He was the State record for about 3 weeks. The guy who does a lot of scoring for Boone and Crockett happened to have the rack with him when he scored my measly 140".

Antlers is some nice deer country! I used to hunt near Bowlegs and if it wasn't such a drive from the city I still would.

If you shot one already, I think we have 3 does down if I counted correct, please go and repost your score on the thread

Chief inadvertantly deleted the (original) scoring thread, trying to delete a comment, hence the ask.

Had a great opening morning for the Illinois Archery season. It was cool and sunny with a slight wind. Its buck only in this county till Oct 15th so of course I had 2 does at 3 yards and 12 yards and a couple of little bucks strolled by but nothing big enough for me to want to shoot. I was after this guy but he was a no show, I had alot of trail cams pics of him last year and he looks like he put on some nice tine length since then. So Im gonna try an after noon hunt tomorrow. Be safe and have a blast hunting guys:bow::rock:

    Dusty,

I re-entered your doe on the Official Scorecard. Thanks for re-posting. Could you please edit your scorecard entry post to include the time of the kill or send it to me and I'll update it since this is my fault.

@alenhard15 - You said you think your team had three does down. I show you and Dusty re-entered. Do you known who the third was?

I made it out to hunt again yesterday afternoon. I walk in to the same spot and there are deer bedded right by my tree and I got busted by them but decided to climb and hunt anyways , its a acorn area. I was waiting on the big 8 to show but again nothing but 7 does and fawns ... I was hunting 5 yards from my trail camera and sunset was 630 pm and this doe with twins right in front of me at 10 yards at 636pm makes my trail cam show it like its night ... I dont know why I could see them with plenty of light if I had wanted to shoot them. So then my camera takes a pic of me pulling the card in the dark and its a real difference in the picture from total dark to low light sunset time pics. Ill post the cam pics. Im home and the hubby is hunting this morning I might go tomorrow or they are predicting monday is gonna be real good for it.

Had the best opener and probably one of my best hunting days ever yesterday besides the ending, ended up seeing 11 deer total between the morning and evening hunt, evening hunt ended at 4pm when I got a shot on a big doe, long story short I ended up not finding her, no blood, hair, scuffing, nothing I’m positive she made it across the road, she was only about 40 yards from the road when I shot and with the arrow still in her she may not have started bleeding for awhile

I had a SWING & A MISS this morning, I had the big 8 point at what I thought was 25 yards .... I didnt have time to range it since he snuck in behind me at 930am to 15 yards but to thick and no shot ... I needed to stand up turn around pickup my bow, draw and stop him .... I drew when he got to a clearer spot and buck fever took hold of me, which is funny since I dont usually get it but I was shaking and over estimated the yardage and over his back it went. At least it was a clean miss. My afternoon hunt was a blast :rock:
