Thanks guys! Rollercoaster of a day! Who guessed 135"? Depending on the left base score, he should be 134-136". Definitely 3 years old...oops!

 

No they were plant and take birds. A lot slower than the wild birds I shot years ago. It was still a blast and I got to see some great dog work.

 

Strong work Josh! Nothing like punching your buck tag a couple minutes into your first sit of the season.

I truly like watching a good dog hunt more than shooting the birds. My buddy has plant pheasants that I hunt all the time. If it wasn’t for that my son would probably never shoot a bird.

Looks like I'll be grilling bacon wrap stuffed jalapeno quail breast that is basted in sweet chili sauce for dinner one night this week.

I'm seeing the same swoop in the main beam, leaning back brow, and squiggly beam tip. The shed is a pretty generic 8 point, but he looks pretty close to me.


It was my daughter's second shed find. April 2019.

I was hoping the lower temps would have my target bucks back on there feet in front of the cameras. So far nada. Just as well I suppose. On call today but I’ll be out when I can with a doe on the hit list.

 

Not getting out tomorrow. Thought about it, but have to go to funeral home now to pay my respect Thursday evening.

Took the afternoon off Friday. Wind looks good for the new ground blind I put in at the lease last Saturday.

 

I got out tonight. Had a doe directly below my tree and a fawn walking around me for 20 minutes. Saw a coyote but to far to take a shot. Hopefully I can get a doe in better range tomorrow.

My nephew sent me this pic of a small piebald buck running on the family farm. Fuzzy image, but you can see the white on him.


I kill one there a couple years ago in gun season.

 

U6 soccer Saturday morning and midday Sunday. I probably won't make it out to hunt this awesome cold front.

 

I'll be LFTS at 1 PM today. Gonna do a mid day hunt at the lease from the new ground blind..

Full moon has movement period from 1:30 till 3:30, I'll hunt till dark!

Thanks! I guess chase some does. I've only ever killed 2 does because I'm always holding out for a buck...
