Not here either. Actually made me nervous just seeing it. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It's legal on private land. Not on public land. Here's another one of my spots and this one might be getting the nod on opening day. Mr 6 still showing up both morning and evening in legal light.
I had no doubt it was legal for you. Just never living where baiting is legal, it still gives me pause when I see it. I have no argument with it honestly. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Shawn, is Mr 6 getting a pass or is he for sure a green light if he comes in? Beautiful deer Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Tomorrow morning should be fun, it’s been raining for two days straight and is suppose to stop tonight. I think the deer will move good tomorrow despite it being a little warm than I want to. I’m so torn on sitting all day and waiting for the 8 I’m after or taking a doe if the opportunity rises. The 8 comes through in daylight in the evenings but it is every so often. I don’t want to shoot a doe and mess that spot up for the rest of the week, but I also am not a huge believer that if you shoot a deer it ruins a spot for a week or whatever. As long as you don’t trample the woods down tracking it and don’t gut it near your hunting spot. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Mr 6 is a definite shooter. I have 3 years of history with him and I'm positive he's a minimum of 5.5 years old. He could be 6.5. I know I have bigger scoring bucks but this 6 point is a true stud. I bet he's close to 300 pounds as well. He will definitely be my heaviest deer I've ever killed. He's coming into that one stand right around 7:30 every morning. That is where I will be. Last year on opening day he was at that stand at 8 am, but I was a couple 100 yards away taking a huge doe that morning.
I've gutted deer near my stand and I went and sat that same stand a few hours later and some deer walked past the gut pile and even licked it. Don't think it affects them at all.
Well guys! Mr 6 has been making his presence known quite a bit at that one stand site. So I'll be at that stand in the morning. Even if I don't see him, there are a lot of does that frequent this stand as well. So, I'm really looking to put some points on the board tomorrow, one way or the other.
Who is all hunting this weekend? I think there's only a few more of us that hasn't started yet, after tomorrow that is.
Sitting tomorrow out fellas. 89 degrees just is no fun. Good luck out there. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Last post was just kidding around. Man if I thought a good one was around I'd be more inclined, but my spots and cams are all just ghost town right now. Gonna ask permission on another close by spot tomorrow. Nothing but hardwoods and oaks. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Overcast, high 60s all day. Has been raining for two days straight. Won’t pull an all day tomorrow or Sunday. Next week conditions are way better. Clothes are ready, bow ready. Alarm set. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I’ll be setting a bunch of stands tomorrow on three of the farms I hunt with hopes of arrowing a slick head come next Thursday. The better half is taking the boys to her parents so I have the day to myself to get things done for season. Every year I say I’m gonna get everything done early but it never seems to happen.
