I got a friend of mine to stop over and give me a hand as my son couldn't make it. It took about 4 hours to complete.

It looks real good and I can't wait to hunt out of it, especially with my grandson.

    Pics below.

I have a confession. I did not research these blinds before deciding to put one up. I did not know about leg pockets for 4x4 legs. When I saw that they were replacing the power poles in my neighborhood I asked for a couple and received them. I also didn't know that the floor/base of the blind that I purchased has built in leg pockets.

That said...... I will never use power poles again! Too much work. However, the power poles are very sturdy.

As for the blind, I still have to trim shooting lanes, Get a decent chair or two and I'd like to add an LP tank and heater.

    Any suggestions are welcome

    Thanks

Nice. The power poles should last a looong time. You might consider trimming some limbs for the TV satellite. Carpet for sound deadening? Recliner? Pool table? My complements on a nice set up. I don't have any private land to set up anything like that. Was going to set up the ground blind to shake out the spiders, etc. Yep! Rain today and tomorrow.
    Good and safe hunting!

    2nd the carpet idea.

Stairs look a bit step. Got some no skid strips on them?

That looks fantastic. You will love that. I had a tower blind on utility poles and ended up having to add some 'X' bracing to eliminate a little wobble and squeaks. I have been buying horse stall mats for floors in blinds. They are really heavy rubber and work great. Just something to consider. Enjoy!

Great, being a builder, I wanted to add earlier but didn't as there are a "few" here that would disrupt the thread.

If those are 2x6s for the rim joist which in the pics look like the are and the floor joists, I would STRONGLY reccomend at least bolting another 2x6 underneath each one.
Lag it in the middle, not near each edge if that makes sense?
That span "if" just 2x6s and the way it is fastened is very borderline for the weight.
    Don't mean to infringe but....:violin:

It might be hard to see but the floor is carpeted and the walls have carpeting half way up.

The stairs are my design as I didn't want them to protrude too far out into the woods. They are a bit steep but not as steep as the ladders I use to get into my hang on stands. After quite a few trips up and down them, I have no complaints. I do have no skid strips for the steps but am waiting for the treated lumber to dry up a bit before installing them.

If things don't seem as stable as I would like, I'll probably add corner gussets to all the corners. In the future I plan on parking my utv under the stand and X bracing would interfere with that.

However, I'll keep my eye on it.

    Thanks

I put the finishing touch on my blind today by installing a Mr Buddy heater with a 30 lb LP tank. Time to hunt!
