This was about 30 min S of Paducah. We talked hunting, my success, desire to get home with the cow. Warning and 'thank you sir'. Southern hospitality, best thing I learned from my Wife and in-laws. Thanks for the heads up too!
I'm up for the evening! And great news with my scouting on the way in! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I'm up and at it. In NH. Filled my doe tag already, so its buck only. Any legal buck will do. Its warm. In a tree I couldn't get as high as I like, but, at least the wind is right.
Well my goal was to doe hunt all of September, then start looking for a buck in October. Well took a long loop today to look for sign and the rub and scrape the big 8 pt did last year, was just hit in the last 24 hours, so this might mean he's alive and in here again! This isn't the swamp I shot at him, it's about 250 yards or so from here. This is his 2nd bed room I found last November. I may have screwed myself with my scent, but going to give it a shot. I actually wouldn't mind if I bumped him out of here and he relocates to the other bedding. I can kill him in the other. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Getm Holt!!!!! Hopefully we can both capitalize on the bucks we chased last season. That would be epic Mathews HTR, Sword 5 pin, Truball release, Goldtip XT hunter 300, QAD 125 gr Swept, QAD rest
The pain is the will to hunt but can’t Mathews HTR, Sword 5 pin, Truball release, Goldtip XT hunter 300, QAD 125 gr Swept, QAD rest
Your not kidding! This is my 3rd season chasing him, but I haven't confirmed he is even alive yet. You get any more pics of your buck? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Just had two people walk right through the bedding area. They were plain clothes, just walking along. And so it goes.
Public land? I've noticed a LOT more people in the woods/trails where I hunt in CT so far. I'm hoping for colder weather to keep them out
Hang tight, the deer may be used to them. Still have a couple hours Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I just realized something about these woods. In some places, when I get to around 20 feet it’s like I’m between two canopies of leaves. It makes it difficult to see deer coming and I will have to pick my shots. That canopy below me is dogwoods. These woods are full of them. I’ll bet it’s beautiful in the spring.
Checked 4 cameras earlier this morning after the rain. 2 of them a bear messed with so 0 pics on both. The other 2 showed 1 picture with a fork and a small 8 over the last 2 weeks. Posted that to our group thread and the team reminded me not to get too caught up in just camera pictures. Wasn’t going to hunt but after their encouragement here I am in a tree. Was running late and spooked a doe and 2 fawns 10 yards from my stand. She didn’t blow and the wind is in my favor. Not sure I’ll shoot a doe tonight. Work tomorrow morning and I’ve been up since 330 with our dogs as it thundered all night. Good luck to all in the field this evening. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
His name is Warren. He's a retired police officer from Florida. He moved here last year and hasn't had a chance to hunt. Showed me a pic of a nice 8 point from in here. I did move. One hour left.
