I was planning on sitting this morning but woke up and it was down pouring. Sun sure is shining now.

Yes sir. I'm sold through about 3 to 3.5 feet of animal, should be a slam drink on deer.

    I'm also only shooting 60#.

A slam drink? Probably should wait until you get home to celebrate that way.

That makes way more sense to me than slam dunk, because I’ve never dunked anything above the 8’ goals. I have, however, shotgunned, bonged, and chugged copious amounts of beer so.... maybe it’s a slam drunk!

Did someone say slam drunk?! I'm here! When do we start? Sounds way better than work right now.

After the last few sits I've had, if I weren't going to hunt this afternoon I'd start now.

After my last few sits and giving a deposition to slimy lawyers yesterday, I got a little sideways last night and went to bed early.

I was beginning to wonder if you were still around and was thinking about sending you a PM since you are a fellow SW MI hunter. Good luck this year.

Nothing at all showed up after the bobcat. I guess the bobcat spooked some does because one started blowing way off the direction he went. I hope it was that doe I call Monica. She deserves some harassment. If she ever gets close She'll get an arrow.

I'm going to shift back to the other side of the road this afternoon and I'm going to move closer to the house. Every evening I've watched does go from the east end of my property to the northwest corner of my woods.

I've picked a tree to try to intercept them and this evening I will shoot a doe if I see one. I'm pretty tired of watching them walk by and not killing one.

This new tree is only about 20 yards east of the north edge of the plot on that side of the road, so provided I make a good shot, recovery should be relatively easy and not too intrusive.

I'll most likely only shoot one doe off of this place before late October.

That's awesome, Carter! Maybe you'll be able to at least sit in a ground blind by late Oct?

There's a stretch on I-40 East of Knoxville where the Highway Patrol do not play around and they like to hide between the E/W lanes in the woods on a well worn path. Can't tell you how many times I've seen them either sitting there or coming out of there in pursuit. They've got my dad twice! I usually back her down through there to about 5 over, not lose too much time and wave at them as I go by.

Ironically enough, my season start a week from tomorrow may be in jeopardy.

Return to the surgeon Tuesday morning, having pain and discomfort that I don't feel I shoupd be having. Oddly enough, it is very similar to the issues I was having that led to the surgery to begin with.

    2020 can go to hell....
