Parents used to have a Spyder in the late 70's. When I lived at my uncles later, he put a 305 in my Aunts Monza. Stout little cars
I literally don't remember how to do real arithmetic anymore. Been 25 years since my last math class. For me to do that I would have to 312 x 23 312 x 20 = 624 (just x2 then add the zero at the end for 1 multiple of 10) 6240 312 x 3 = 936 6240 + 936 _______ 7176
That's math in your head, learn that after you learn math on paper. Now imagine doing that equation knowing only common core.
see my comment on Brett's kid's homework. I don't even know the definition of the terms. Effing word salad. Also, other than jotting notes of partial sums along the way I can't do math on paper- dyslexic with numbers. With words I forced myself to remember the set order of letters. With numbers, no set order...SOL.
Wanna hear something funny? That’s basically what common core is trying to teach people to do. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Yeah but it’s like telling someone “for major blues runs in a minor key just drop the pentatonic minor root note down down four steps and play the same pattern” before they know how to strum a chord.
everything I see with common core is a word salad punctuated by numbers. But I don't have nor am I around young kids so I only see what I see online. My "math" techniques are similar to Chinese...get everything to a multiple of 10 then take care of the remainder at the end. It's how they figure so fast. Also a word salad.
