No, not really. I think I'm gonna have to write some letters like Adam (alenhard15) during the offseason to get on some private land.
Went out this morning for a few hours. I had two doe at 30-35 yards with a clean shot, but they were to on edge for my liking at that distance. I opted to pass. I'll be going out again either thu/fri morning or thus/sat morning or fri/sat morning....LOL! I have a paper to write for class and I don't think I'll be able to go out all 3 days.
Weather took a turn warmer and is now back up to around 80 for next couple days. Hoping to maybe get out Thursday after work and then this weekend. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
That’s awesome, hoping they offer you a better opportunity next time. What’s your paper on? I’ll write it for you! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
82 degrees here in central MN today. I'll be out tomorrow afternoon. Looks like it cools down nicely next week which should get the deer moving.
Same here...next week highs only in the upper 50's! Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It's a case study. How to apply person-centered counseling theory/therapy to the case. I'm heading out tomorrow morning!!
Good luck! I am hoping to make it out tomorrow afternoon. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Of course it cools down next week when I go to 2nd shift and can't hunt. But yes the deer should be moving
That stinks...can you do any morning hunts? Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Rained all morning so I snuck in to check my cams. 2 of the 4 that I checked were messed with by a bear. One picture with a borderline 8pt and a fork. Only bucks on camera the last 2 weeks. Kind of takes the wind out a guys sail. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Trail cameras are a double edge sword. That is one of the reasons why I don't run cameras anymore. I ran a bunch when I owned my property, and it was great at first. but once I noticed not too many buck sightings, I lost motivation. On public land, I ran them to see what was in there, which was amazing btw, but stopped running them because I didn't want to lose motivation. If I run them again, it will be in areas on public that I want to potentially hunt in the future, kind of like long term scouting. Somehow someway I am always motivated to go hunting now. It has given me the "anything is possible" mentality, and I rely on hoof prints, droppings, and so on for intel.
I didnt see much on trail cams all year but have seen two nice bucks so far this season! my morning also got rained out.
Don't get discouraged. Remember your cameras only cover a micro area of what you hunt. I only have one of my four cameras out and will use those probably to scout potential areas for next year. Sent from my XT1650 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Likely taking this afternoon off. Have some back straps from last year that I miraculously found yesterday. Have them marinading in the fridge for dinner tonight (when I hunt I get home too late to for everyone to eat dinner).
I'm taking today and this weekend off. It's supposed to be in the low 80's today and tomorrow. I also need to get a handle on my school work and write a few papers to get ahead so I can spend more time in the woods when November comes!
