I'll be doing an all day hunt on Halloween regardless of the moon. With the rut getting under way, that's just a great day to be in the woods, period.

It is for sure. I’ve got young ones so I’ll get by with morning through early afternoon. Might take the 30th off and definitely be all day on Nov 1

    Good luck killers...

Just got done bareshaft tuning....didnt realize how out of whack my bow had become...my broadhead and field tips hitting out of whack for the last year. Now I'm smacking bareshafts at 20. Much much better! On to broadheads tomorrow.

It’s been busy here. I’ve seen seven does and two other deer far enough away in the thick cover I couldn’t tell what they were.

    Still have an hour left.

Beginning to think the deer have left this place. I've seen a few but not like in the past. I have a plan for that but guess it has to wait till next year.

I’m back at the house now. I’m really surprised and pretty excited.

The big 10 point actually showed just before last light. He was about 35 yards away in cover so I had no shot. I had to watch him walk by.

One of these days he’s going to show up at the wrong time and place for him.

Well, we did get into the elk, maybe 20yds from a cow who scurried around a tree, followed by barking, more bugling, more barking...

No shots fired, but another good day in the elk.

When I got to my stand site I checked the two cameras I put out on Saturday before I left for Kentucky.

I had 234 pics, including pics of the big 10 and a nice little 8.

That is a heck of a travel corridor I have in my property.
