I'm still in my splint. There's not much hunting, yet. I'll know more this Thursday.

Decent hunt. I’m done for the day though. Saw a lot of fresh sign on my way out of that area, I always knew the bucks crossed through there Because it is a pinch point. Now that I know does are bedding there this year, it should be a great spot in a month or so. I’ll stay out of there until then.

Well got the cow boned out in game bags and roughed the pack out the 267yds to the road below us. Once out of the woods got her into a friend's freezer about 60 miles away last evening. There was beer and pizza too.

I'm gonna hit the road tomorrow for my reverse cross country tour. Tomorrow morning, but thought I'd show the other guy with a tag in this unit where I got into the big herd. So we're about 800 vert feet below and getting fueled and rested for a healthy climb to 11k ft.

Good luck to those out today. Kill!

Team #11 has its second confirmed buck down, not me, my season opens Saturday. The Booner Brigade is rolling. For the record only two guys on our team's seasons opened and two bucks are down. Last night's buck is a dandy.

At elevation +200 vert feet and 1 finger ridge from where I got into the herd. Great uphill thermal, setting here a bit cause we got a hint of barnyardiness...

You must have meant you were awake, not "up". Saying "I'm up" in the LFTS thread means you're in a stand, no? :poke:

Still, I was thinking you must be even more hardcore than I am to be in a stand this soon after surgery.

I actually have a Beagle, Elly May, that I trained to blood trail. Last opening day here in Missouri I wounded one deer and missed another. We took Elly May out and she tracked the deer I missed like a machine but she wouldn't pick up the blood trail from the one I wounded. Even though there was a blood trail that we could see she wouldn't follow it.

I also have a Red Bone in the pack. Maybe I should see what she can do.

Quiet. Heard a cow chirp a while ago.

I guess I'm more a fan of kicking the door down, risking getting busted, than Keenan is....
