Checked a cam on my way home from work...1 little buck and a parade of does. The white oak acorns are literally falling on my blind, so I think I'm in for some close combat. I needed a taller chair for this spot, but this throne seems kinda silly in the woods! Scrape/licking branch on the left, stand on the right (22 yards) and a blind down the trail behind the camera.
let me know if yall need any help. I wouldnt be much help on the trans though as i dont generally work on auto fords. I am a subaru master tech for Byers in Columbus. They may have some sort of friends and family discount. especially on volkswagens
Last card pull at my main property...1 spike and the same doe group of 7 that bed on the property. Looks like I'll mostly be hunting the edges until the rut.
Went to my lease yesterday to talk to the neighbor who hunts adjoining property. He had called and said I had 3 stands on his side of the line. They weren't mine and we're really old. Glàd we got that straighten out!
While I was at the lease yesterday I found 15-20 field edge scrapes. Gotta get my cameras out this week over the bigger ones. I also found a perfect spot for a ground blind. Need to pop it up and brush it in this week. 10/1 is gonna get here fast now guys!
Weather is definitely a concern for the weekend. Its a long season so I'm not going to get to cranked up about it, but it's disappointing. Unexpectedly light day at work today so I pulled a bunch of cards, did some last minute trimming and made a couple camera adjustments. There is a pretty decent buck that showed up a couple weeks ago. I have pic/video of him on multiple cameras hopefully he is here to stay.
Got a call from a buddy who raises bird dogs. Needs a gunner for field testing this Sunday. Looks like I'll be shooting quail over some good dogs Sunday afternoon. Bonus is I get a free quail dinner if I shoot straight.
Here’s the two bucks I’m targeting. One is the 9 that has been around all summer. The other is an 11 point who showed up a couple weeks ago. Both spend enough time on their feet during day light to have their pictures taken. Hopefully I get to meet them up close soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Millionaire property sent a pic from the yard. Not my big boy, but I like seeing them out in daylight. I think this is him
Well I just snuck out to my ground blind. I needed to get my chair out there before the weekend. While I was there I convinced myself to open a window so the deer would get use to it. Did I screw up? Should I have left The window closed?
MEH... They have no idea if it is occupied or not. BUT-- Having said that I like to leave at least my shooting window partly open.
Cool thanks for the info. It blended in pretty nicely but with the window down there is a big black triangle that sticks out. I’m thinking of going in Saturday morning. The 11 point was in there this morning after shooting light.
