and here it is from 8 years ago come Nov. 8th

    https://forums.bowhunting.com/threa...om-the-stand-thread.37643/page-73#post-572829

Also interesting to note we are on page 99 on September 21st. That year the entire thread only went 95 pages. I think we'll get that many pages alone first 2 weeks of November

we can easily do 4-5 pages a day from Oct 31-Nov 10.
It's the ubiquitousness of phones and increased cell coverage.
In 2013 I could barely get enough signal to text much less surf the net in the majority of my hunting areas. Now, hunting the same areas, I get POd and irritated if I don't have a signal.

We are all digital junkies now.

That is the truth. Could you imagine trying to participate on the first net capable flip phones?

The area I hunt is still in sparse coverage even though it has a decent population. Many people in the middle of town(Jacksonville) get piss poor reception. If it ever improves I would have no problem buying and maintaining about 4 cell cams to help

A few sits this year I have zero service, to the point I had a hard time even getting a text out, even after many failed attempts. Was kind of nice at the same time. My service in those areas actually get better as season goes on, guessing less foliage?

Foliage would be my guess as well, seems after the leaves drop and even on heavily clouded days my reception is better. One stand I can only get service if I am not touching the phone aside from the screen. I usually use my padded seat if I remember it as a table, and if not I try to weave a web table with limbs off from spruce branches put up as concealment/scent assist

Haha, could you imagine if somebody walked up on you while you were trying to use your phone!

Another thing that messes with mine is wind direction. North winds I get better service then if it blowing from the south, it's strange

Worse yet is when the wind blows or a woven knot gives and the phone drops 16 feet to the ground.

Don't ask me how I know...

nothing too eventful for me. I saw the small, tall 4 point i saw yesterday and a doe and a funky racked buck came out into the beans a bit later. Closest they got was 81 yards. Also busted one walking back in the dark. Not a terrible sit but uneventful.

Just a side note, 40 days until Halloween.

Falls on a Saturday and I will be out there for sure this year. Hasn't been a particular memorable day for me yet, but that can change. One thing it does say, is the next sunrise it will be November.

    One last miserable pic.

This was where he was when I missed. You can see my Nockturnal glowing.

I shot for 30 yards but when I ranged the arrow it was in the ground at 30. I’m guessing he was actually at 26-27 yards.

    Him ducking didn’t help either.

    It was an exciting sit.
