Three does at about 400 yards, three more at 65 yards and two bucks, a six and a nice 8 at 250 yards.

My guess would be the heavy 10 made its way into range, didn't seem like a missed shot on a doe reaction

My guess is he is downing massive amounts of alcoholic beverages while sitting around the fire he built with the tree he had climbed before cutting it down after pulling, or maybe not pulling, his stand.

Misses aren't easy to take, anytime someone mentions one or I think of one, it is a 150-160 10pt I missed in 2012 right here in this thread albeit 8 years ago.

Sorry guys. I wasn’t going to keep the phone lit up any longer than I had to. I also had to scramble down and get my arrow while I was sure there were no deer in the field.

I was watching the three bucks with my binoculars. I lowered them to look around and there was a decent 8 point 30 yards away walking the road you can see in the pics.

When I first saw him he was already at 30 yards and closing fast. I was wide open with no cover so I couldn’t move until he passed me.

Just as he started to pass me he locked up. He had hit the Ozonics scent stream. He stayed frozen for maybe a minute and then kept walking.

When he went behind a big hickory tree I spun, grabbed my bow, lifted my rangefinder and ranged a spot in front of him at 25 yards.

I couldn’t get on him until he’d gone past that. I guessed 30. I ranged it later at 28 yards. That wouldn’t have been a problem but just before I shot he stopped and turned almost broadside and looked back my way.

I launched the arrow and he ducked just enough to let my arrow whizz right over his back.

    I’m kinda glad I missed though. He was only a 115 - 120” 8 point and I know I can do better.

    Still, that was exciting.

Better than what I had envisioned on the series of posts, so, congrats on the miss?

Gave you a real time trial run for when it really counts, could be rather valuable as the days move on
