Like the song says “Well it was bound to happen. One night it did”.

Headed to the dirt bike stand this afternoon. As soon as I got out of the truck I heard the bikes.

I got right back in the truck and couldn’t figure out where to go with this SE wind.

My brother told me to go and climb a tree by his old box blind.

No idea what to expect here. A creek runs through the woods. There used to be woods where the strip of soybeans is. The farmer is shelling the corn as I type this.

There is still standing corn in the small field in front of the box blind.

I know there are a lot of deer here that haven’t been hunted in a couple of years.

Could be a bust or it could be golden. IMG_1345.jpg

I thought I felt something crawling in my sleeve a few minutes ago. Decided it was nothing.

I just felt it again. I pulled open the elastic cuff and looked in.

I about came out of the freaking stand before I figured out it was just a fuzzy caterpillar.

    Whew! I’m awake now!

 Be awhile before your skin stops crawling, I hate when a spider or something crawls across me, every itch or slight breeze moving a hair is another bug for about 20 minutes afterward

That solidifies it for me, if I happen to put a contest buck down this year I'm measuring it from the photo while drinking

I was pretty far off, can usually get a bit closer than that, but as stated I may have added a number twice, once or twice

If I can get a shot at a doe this evening I’ll take it and call this trip finished.

Don’t under estimate the caterpillar. Couple years ago I was hunting with my son during youth season in September. Felt something crawling on my arm and I smashed it. 30 mins later I was itching and broke out in a rash. Stupid thing was out to get me, lol
