Getting a 30 degree temperature drop tonight. Tomorrow is gonna be just above freezing. I’m gonna go squirrel hunting/scouting to see what deer will be moving. Season starts two weeks from tomorrow! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Seen 1 2yr old 8 point this week. And some other small bucks. Deer are all over my barassica plot. Only a matter of time I feel. Dont have any real big deer on cam right now but a couple I would like to get eyes on. Plan on taking my 4yr old daughter out tomorrow for her first deer hunt. She wants to go so if a doe gets close enough I will let a arrow fly. Good luck to anyone else thats able to get out this weekend
Bumped a couple on the way out this morning . Max passed a doe already. Got a real good one on cam this morning!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So I took the kid I was talking about squirrel hunting on his property. I haven’t done much scouting there but I found a large tree to sit by overlooking a small clearing. 20 mins into our sit we had two deer come by, but he spooked them before I could see what they were(he’s a fidgety kid ) A half hour later we had 5 doe walk on by us. One of them split of from the rest and started heading our way. She circled around the tree we were sitting under and got within 5 yards of us before stopping. My cousin was shaking from the adrenaline rush but sat pretty still. After a few minutes the doe just slowly backed off. He has never seen a deer up close before. As soon as she left he got the shakes real bad! Needless to say he is now hooked and looking forward to this season! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

I posted in the live from the stand thread yesterday evening. The best opening day I’ve had (deer wise). I had deer around me all night. Passed on numerous 5 yard shots on does. I’ll be out again tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
im not on a team but since a lot of you hunt the Midwest (MN,WI, IA, SD, etc.), I will be following along with this thread.
Got skunked again last night. 2 plus mile walk in to the spot. Best terrain feature to promote movement and not to much sign. I'm just about done with the whole sentimental thing of where and why I hunt these woods.
My advice would be to start venturing to new spots. You know how to find spots on maps really well. Just have to find the spots that have deer in them! I decided to sit tonight out. 30mph gusts this afternoon. Didn’t feel like rocking back and forth in a tree for 4 hours. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
