Son in law said Ghost got up and went the other way. This is a real time pic from his stand: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He’s after Ghost. He let that buck walk, but he said he might regret it later. He said that is the fourteenth buck he’s seen today.
How big is this cage he is in? He only allowed one buck or something? That's one of the reasons I am kinda glad I have no clue to what caliber of buck roams the woods. I know the potential that is out there, but I would be ruined if I only had one buck in my head
Missouri is a two buck state, but only one buck can be killed before the start of gun season in November. By November the woods he's hunting right now will be clear cut and a lake will eventually cover the area.
Wow, if that isn't a frigging deadline with a heart breaker at the end lol. Maybe you should get over there and help out
I want to. I'd love to. Hell, I'm dying to go there but given the circumstances I'm not willing to intrude into his hunting ground until he's killed his buck. If I were there and Ghost walked by my son in law would want me to shoot and I'd shoot. I'm not even going to risk it.
Log in for first time since this AM, 7 pages to catch up on. I knew it- first cold front of the season...lots of sightings, lots of death. I like it.
These does are lucky I still have some meat in the freezer. 4 more walked right down the trail at 5 yards. Need the bucks to do the same and hurry up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Back home. 4 doe came through about 30 mins before sunset. No bucks on the hoof yet. Lots of pics of black bears though. Sent from my SM-G950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
About 350 acres fenced with 5 strand barbed wire on two sides. Also, he texted me when he first got out. He had made it half way up the tree when "four big bucks" (his words, not mine) appeared in that same thicket. He was stuck half way up the tree for almost an hour. Those four bucks finally moved on but two four points came in and were feeding right under him.
Coyotes descended on me at the best time of the evening. I have never seen one just sit down and be still that long. I just started packing my crap up and walked the 1000 yards back to the house. Time to have a drink and regroup. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
So, I've mentioned the fact that I got permission to hunt the neighbor's 14 acre property next to mine. I stopped by that neighbor's house this afternoon for my second visit so that we could exchange phone numbers for the inevitable hunting notifications. The neighbors are my high-school classmate Belinda and her husband Brady. Go figure. We chatted for a while and then they took me on a walking tour of the property. Most of it was clearcut at some point, I'd guess about four or five years ago. It's chock full of 2 - 3" diameter trees scattered with 6 - 8" diameter trees (too small to cut at the time) with a few clearings that their family used to hunt. It's practically unhuntable with a bow. I was feeling kind of down as we walked through it. We followed an old four wheeler trail and suddenly hit a transition from old overgrown clearcut to open woods. My eyes popped open and my spidey-senses started tingling. Sure enough, there is a mega trail right at the transition from thick cover to open woods. I walked that transition and found multiple trails coming out of the thick cover. There were deer droppings all over the place. I think they were wondering what in the world I was doing, but it soon became clear to them when I pointed out the advantages of hunting transition lines. I can't see my house from where I'm planning to hunt, but I can walk out my back door and be on a stand within 10 minutes. Oh yeah! Between the spot across the road and this patch of woods, some deer are going to die here at home this season. It'll have to wait for a while, though. My wife is coming home tonight instead of tomorrow night so tomorrow I'm going to head back to Kentucky for two or three days of attempted doe murder.
I'm not that far from you. Next month let's do a public land weekend hunt in the Van Buren area or maybe we'll just hunt here at my place.
