I think we all have a pretty good shot this year. And sight tapes can be the worst. I switched back to a 3 pin site.

I have a multi pin and a slider on the shelf, I grabed the slider because it is what I used last year. I'm so far behind on prep that I figued I better stick with what I used last year. I hardly every move the pin in a hunting situation anyway. Set it at 20 and forget it.

I’m looking forward to this weekend. Lows in the lower 50’s and our highs in the high 70’s. I can’t wait!

The tapes certainly can be a pain. I recently switched to the Trophy Ridge React Alpha single pin. It only goes out to 60 yards (the react pro goes out to 100), but I rarely shoot much past 30, so this is fine. It also as an inverted V for the pin which I find helps me get on target quicker.
Very easy to adjust and seems pretty durable.

The big old 9 point came by my stand for the 2nd night in a row last pm.. 8pm... This is my 5th season hunting him. Hope it happens this year, but I'm not holding my breath.

So, here is the 7.5 year old 9 point.. i will try to put together something showing his history at some point. I don't normally name deer, but I am going to call him Van Gough because of his messed up ear.
This will be year 5 trying to kill this ghost. His rack is much smaller than years past. I would give anything to kill him.

Dang... these past couple of days have been busy! Glad to have the project (Cleaning garage) finished. Hopefully I can get up to the lease and finish getting setup for deer season.

He is around early and late season normally. But nocturnal. Checked some other cams yesterday and a couple other good ones showed up. A big 8 above where this guy usually is and another huge 8 I’ve been hunting for 4 years now. My daughter actually missed him 3 years ago. Never been more than an 8. But big.

the 1st pic is the big 8 bear where the Van Gogh hangs.

2nd pic is the one she missed that we have the history with. There is also a big 10 he hangs with that I don’t have any handy pics of.

the 3rd pic may be the same buck as the 1st pic... but can’t tell.

Anyone do anything good this weekend. I set three stands and took two down. Hopefully it don’t get any poison ivy.

Long weekend at the lease working on our cabin and getting stands hung up. Thankfully the weather was much cooler. I apologize for not being active here lately, just trying to get crap done before season starts.

I’m thinking I have a really good chance of shooting a turkey this spring with the bow. This section of woods has about 10 turkeys living in it.
