Dropped my bow off to get tuned guy looked at it and said strings are good you are lucky. Evidently Vapor Trail is 4 week back logged. Anybody else seeing this for other brands?

It's not necessarily a shortage of string materials - just labor to make them. Most of the string makers were closed for a period of time and with the massive increase in people going hunting this fall, demand is through the roof. Lots of people dusting off their old bows and getting back in the woods since there's nothing to do. I know ABB is 3-4 weeks out on strings as well. They're building them as quickly as they can make them.

I work in the industry and just about every string maker we have for distribution is backed up 4 weeks minimum! To piggy back off Justin, not a string shortage, just back up from being closed for cover mixed with high demand. Those last minute guys are in trouble this year!

You mean guys do not have a spare set of strings and cables on hand? I do from when my Bowtech limbs blew up. But my set on the bow are just a year old and not shot much.

Took ABB a month to get mine to me, not mad at them, I waited until the last min to order them. But they sent an email stating they had a 11-15 day backlog. Bow shop said all string makers are behind.

That would be like putting dirty socks back on after taking a shower.

I thought I read that you replace your strings every year?
If you don’t keep a set, isn’t that like wearing socks once and then throwing them away?
I replace every 2-3 years and always keep the last set if it looks good. Rotate between bows as to which one gets new threads.

When I shot a lot I did switch every year but last few years I bet I shot my bow under 50 times.

Not much different then most years. This time of year most of good builders have some wait time. Why guys wait till a month before the season to get their **** together is beyond me.

Exactly I have my bow in September for hunting in the end of October. Plan on doing some economic stimulus at the bow shop, new target, nocturnals, target heads, license. Cabalas is right on the other side of the freeway from work but prefer to support small business.

I waited last minute as well and just ordered ABB strings about a month ago, they had a 2-3 week backlog, so I called them and paid a little extra for express shipping and got them in a week.
