I was to the point I turned the cowboys off one because they were pitiful and 2, I noticed the "black lives matter" on the back of the helmets. Whoever said black lives didn't matter? But these people need to understand that so does a police officers' life. I will say that most of my interactions with cops, mostly speeding tickets, helping with a car accident I witnessed etc, has not been all that great. I don't disrespect them ever, but they could be a little less cocky and not such an *******. With that said, I do as they ask, get my ticket or the move on down the road deal and I just smile and move on. No confrontation, no argument, just him doing his job. Albeit, they could be a bit more polite but there are rude and obnoxious people in every line of work. Not all my dealings have gone this way, but most have. I think it just comes with the territory...
I watched the first half of Seattle vs Atlanta. I didn't want to even though I am a Seahawks fan. My oldest loves them too but doesn't understand all the political stuff surrounding it right now. After the first pro-BLM commerical, I started sending my kids out of the room during commercial breaks. Between that and other commercials, I don't even consider it family-friendly anymore. I told my kids I have lost interest in watching football and we probably won't anymore.
Gonna watch the Steelers tonight, but I am pretty disenfranchised with the NFL. Normally I would be super pumped to watch the opening games, but I feel zero desire to watch football. I didnt watch any of the other games this week. Just couldnt really care at this point.
I still watch baseball. My grandson signed with the Braves last year and his younger brothers play high school ball and travel ball. They all stand when the national anthem is played. Veterans might be interested in this link. I keep my hat on (cover to you Marines) in order to salute during the national anthem. Stand at ease and snap to attention to salute when the national anthem starts. I was at a baseball game and the moron behind be remarked that I was disrespectful. Never turned around to see his expression after I saluted. I don't watch really any televised professional sports..... BUT, it sure was nice to be sitting on a football field on a crisp Saturday morning again watching some Jr High ball.
