Hang on stands

Looking to get a hang on stand, preferably under $100. What do you guys recommend??

 

Depends on what comfort you want and your size. Me I'm not small but I have a couple of cheap Guide Gear hang ons. I do two things though, even if I were a tiny person. I back up ratchets with chain and I back up platform cables with webbing ( lighter and more quiet than chains).
Id do this with an expensive stand as well.

 

Take a look at Muddy "The Boss". For under $100 it's a solid option.

As long as the seat cushion is comfortable and can get me through an all day sit, then i should be ok with it. other than that, im not big so size shouldn't be an issue.

 

Those you to have a good cushion already. Well that may have changed since I bought any. That said still wise to have back ups to your supporting straps and cables. Something as simple as a hook or carabiner on one end of climbing rope or strap and then tying other end to seat platform . Folds easy in pocket or pack.

Most guys will probably laugh me out of here but i honestly use the Big Games stands. I have never had an issue with them and i have had them a long time pretty cheap think i spent 55 bucks on it.

 

I have a field and stream hang on that was 100 bucs. I added 2 ratchet straps for the extra safety but they seem to be comfortable and the platform is plenty big enough.

 

If your getting up there in age you might want to consider a lower quality ladder stand which in many cases are cheaper then some of the brand name hang ons. They are much safer and easier to use.

 

For the price, I think it is tough to beat Millennium

 

I live at and around that price. Milleniums, Hawk, Muddy and X-Stand have spots on trees for me.

I also have multiple Guide Gear brand stands and have no issue with them.

 

I’ve used big game through the years. Owned by same outfit as muddy now. They are ok for the money.

 

For $189 you can get this. So that’s stand, sticks , and a lifeline. Not a bad deal. I’ve got 2 of these. The platforms are big and seats are comfy. Cons are weight as they are steel and also they don’t have platform angle adjustment on the cables.

 

I’m second guessing this add though. It says “Stick” Like singular. That would be pretty shoddy if it came with one stick. Mine both came with 4 a piece

 

I’ve done the cheaper ones for a lot of years (ameristep, big game, big dogs, rivers edge, etc) and finally splurged this year on Millenium aluminum stands. I’m younger so the seat comfort never bothered me much, but I feel like when it starts to get cold and things start to ice up, the cheaper ones have more creaks in them and make noise when you try to move around or stand up. Always when a deer is making its way through the woods.
