So over the years I've hunted out of all sorts of deer stands but this year owning our own property we decided to get some nicer ladder stands.

We got three 1.5 persons 17 x stands and two Hawk Sasquatch stands which are like the lay z boy of deer stands... i look forward to sitting and not breaking my back this year 20200808_170711.jpeg 20200809_140518.jpeg

I'm with Travis. Da Turdy Pointers is my # 1 vote.
Justin what kind of double ladder stand is your second picture? I really like that one looks comfy!

yea I’ve seen friends and their parents homes that were just completely destroyed and inhabitable. Yet, little national coverage on TV. I pray for lake Charles... it’ll be a year before they fully recover from this probably.

Its this one:

https://shop.hawkhunting.com/18-sasquatch-2-man-ladder-stand/

It seriously is super comfy and built like a rock. I am hoping to get my boy to sit with me this year in it as long as he feels comfortable climbing the ladder.

kevinpowell sent me a PM. So we need him to check in on this thread along with pastorbigdan and our team will be set.

Anyone good at graphic design and wanna make an avatar for Da Turdy Pointers? I could try it but if anyone has experience be my guest.

I’m good with the Turdy Pointers as a team name. Travis, you’ve got my vote for team captain if you don’t mind doing it. We’ve got enough contest experience here that we can all help you out where necessary.

Nothing fancy but I thought the flag/buck silhouette was cool. Just toying around.

Any of you guys interested in joining a group text thread. This forum doesn’t always send me notifications. My team did it last year and it was a blast keeping up a little more frequently during season. My suggestion is to just mute the conversation so you can see it when you look at your messages but it would ding or vibrate every time we talk. Anyone interested? If so send me a message with your name and your number next to it and I’ll send you the group when I get everyone in.

My number is 3305465620

We can still post here with pictures and general talk.

So, I guess I'm the old guy, just turned 50. I reside in NW PA within miles of Lake Erie. I have 3 grown kids (2 in TX, 1local) am married and a couple dog kids these days. I am a Baptist pastor of a church of about 200 which is a double edged sword. Flexible schedule but always changing. I'm passionate about bow hunting and will be hunting PA, NY, MO, and an OH flintlock hunt. PA and NY are mostly private land and a lease I'm part of in NY. MO will be a rut hunt with a guide friend. The OH hunt is a retreat I am really looking forward to getting away at the beginning of 2021. Most of my hunting is done from a climber, due to mobility. I'm a lefty shooting a Carbon Defiant and I look forward to getting the to know the group better. Team name is great and Travis has my vote to be captain as well. I'm eagerly awaiting the NY opener on oct 1, and PA on oct 3. Can't wait!

Welcome! I’m actually a minister too. Work as a Family and Outreach guy at a church of Christ. Been there since 2012. Also started working part time as a parent mentor for children with special needs. I’m a liaison between the schools and the parents. That had been a learning experience so far!

My buddy just posted some of his videos of summer bucks! It’s pretty enjoyable to watch! Bout 2 minutes long. Hope it gets you fired up for the opener!

Like the idea but last year we made a GroupMe chat and that worked great for discussion. It's free and easy, you can mute notifications if you'd like
