Agree with Dan, you did a great job and it worked out well last year so let's keep it the same! Unless anyone else opposes and you just don't want to do it anymore.
October 1st here as well, but I won't be hunting opening week unfortunately, have to head down to Louisiana that week to pick up my gun dog from training. Not too bummed about it since it's early season and still warm, but this will be the first opening week I have ever missed. If I get back the following weekend with enough time maybe I can get in a tree, otherwise it's on after I am back! Headed up North last weekend though and got stands hung and bait sites ready for bear. My buddy that lives up there starting baiting them yesterday so we'll see how that goes. Can't wait for it all to be here already....good luck this year fellas!

Thanks brother! It's a blast, that's for sure! We are still learning each year we've been baiting. Not allowed to bait in NY so once we got the property up North in NH where we were able to start our own sites it became trial and error really. First couple years were not very productive for us. We kept switching things up like what baits to use and where we wanted to put the sites and the type of terrain and cover....did a lot more homework as to where they were traveling to and from rather than relying on the bait to bring them in. Lots of natural food too so you always have to compete with that also. We have seen it to be an on and off type situation. One year they hit the bait like crazy and the next year it is slow, at least in our experience so far that's how it has been. We have killed 3 up there so far so we are def learning lol. I'm excited for my little guy too! Crazy when I bought him as a pup I had no idea how small of a lab he would be lol. He is a little over a year and half now and only about 50lbs, but he gets the job done! Grateful for his good trainer and can't wait to hunt over him this waterfowl season!
Oct. 3 here. I got 3 buck and 3 doe tags in Virginia. Going to be headed to Ohio last week of Oct. again this year.

Nice! You planning on trying fill all 3 doe tags to get that buck tag? Typically are some hammers in those small pockets of woods within the city limits!
Thanks Mudshark - you carried the flag well for us last year! We open up here on Saturday the 6th. The Navy Base has some hammers, but we now have to take two does to earn a buck.
