I have lost a few fletching’s here recently. Probably because my fletch glue was older and had lost its quality. Shopping on Lancaster, I find a kit(Zing Kling) that has flex-fletch adhesive and a primer pen. Has anyone used this new product? Wondering how you liked it?
never needed it or similar ... I use Pine Ridge Glue .... I keep it in the fridge, and it will keep for at least 2 years ..... my Blazers stay on fantastic .. I use brown Scotch Brite on my GT's to rough up and wipe with DEnatured Alcohol ... never a problem for fletching ... Ive done hundreds, mine and customers ... no problems ..
I always wipe vanes down with a q tip soaked in acetone, wipe the shaft with alcohol, and I’ve never had a problem
Try using Denatured Alcohol to wipe the vane down prior to fletching ...I use acetone only to remove old glue from the shaft, I'll soak it for a few minutes to loosen the old glue and scrape the remainder off with a knife once it softens ...
I’ve never had to clean the vanes before when I had carbon arrows. Last year I switched to the FMJ eastons and the vanes need the extra wipe down with a cleaner. Although I see the Zing glue is not new, it’s new to me. The primer pen is just handy to keep in the arrow building box. Just got done with some arrows and the bond seems pretty strong.
The AAE primer pen is absolutely awesome. I’ve never seen these before. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Yep the pens are working well. In the past I always added a drop of glue to the front of the vane. Haven’t needed that with using a primer and they are holding up great.
