If a state has less than 5 people sign up is there some method of accounting for that... for instance we only have 2 signed up for nc at this point. If I shot a 200” buck and gr_andrews shot a 50pt fergie (lol) would we get to average those 2 scores and use that 125pt average for the other 3 bucks? In our state everybody does get two buck tags, so we could potentially submit 2 scores each but even with that it would still leave us one buck short of the total 5 allowed not to mention that is counting on each of us to shoot 2 Bucks (as opposed to a state with 10 people signed up where even if half the team ate tag soup, they would still have the full 5 bucks)
@sycamoretwitch @pastorjim08 would you guys or any other fellow Hoosiers like to jump in on the state comp for IN? We need another person at least.
We have been talking about how we are going to do that we thought we would do the top 3 bucks from each state it’s hard to do a average but we have talked about it. We will post official rules over weekend. Try to get a team of 3 together would be your best bet tho.
I say we make this contest the exact opposite of the other one just to see how wild it gets. I want way less rules. You dont post a buck score, you post a pic and everybody else has to guess than you are awarded the average score from the guesses

Suggestion for trying to figure out how to handle scoring - Each state keeps X # of bucks. Not all bucks recorded into the contest necessarily have to kept. I think that the second a hunter posts a buck then the members of that state should decide if they want to keep that buck or pass on that buck. In other words. Sycamoretwitch - Indiana - 138" October 10th the team then decides if they want to keep that score or toss it out. You take the total or average inches of the 3 bucks scored. Some strategy involved but maybe a bit too complicated. So the team throws my buck out and the next 4 bucks posted are 160" Keep 125" Toss 122" Keep 170" Keep One of the scores is going to be less than the 138" that we passed on but hell it was early October and you had the entire season ahead of you. Requires the members to know the caliber of deer that are in a given state and the likelihood of those deer actually being harvested. Not much guesswork in knowing that Kansas, Illinois and Iowa can out score Indiana on a given year - I think that is pretty much established/common knowledge - some of the other states are probably a lot closer together than most people think

Well if your team can toss out scores it's a little unfair to states that only allow one buck like mn. Cause you could shoot a a smaller buck to get a for sure score. Where here it's one and done. Should be one buck per team member and the one you pick is the score you get. And there are few states that have 3 or less sign ups. I'm voting for 3 member teams and what ever team has the best score. One person sign ups can we pair with neighboring state? Kinda co-op them?
I follow your logic - Indiana is a 1 buck state so I get what you are saying. Maybe it’s too complicated and I’m late to the party so I’m game for whatever. I’m simply saying... The hunters in a given state know that state pretty well right? I’m pretty well versed county by county even where big bucks come from in my state. All I am suggesting is the ability within 48 hours to decide to keep a buck or throw it out. In other words - the very same dilemma that hunters are faced with in the woods every day to shoot or not to shoot?! I see no reason it can’t apply here... Do you want to keep sycamoretwitch 138” buck or are the other 4 members of the team more likely to kill bigger bucks. It allows for strategy and perhaps levels the playing field. How? Well... _______ member from Kansas posted a 149” and they decided to keep the score. Does that mean keep the 138” and you keep it close anyway or do you drop the 138” buck because Kansas just opened the door. If the challenge is simply which state can produce the biggest bucks - again I think we have a decent idea where the winners might come from. But I’m game for the fun of it anyway.
The idea was to have a fun state vs state contest. I love the idea and will run it across the guys helping me. If your state only has one or two guys get your buddy’s to sign up you have till end of day.
