I have always been told to never carry your bow by the string. I was told it will rotate the peep or something. But I see a lot of shows where guys do it. Any problem with it? does is it rotate the peep?

I have never had a problem doing that. If I had peep problems it was because of string stretching.

I've heard it stretches strings as well. I also carry mine by the string. I hear a lot of things and tend to go by my experiences and to this point it has never resulted in any issues.

your right, the 5 pound weight of the bow will stretch the string more than the 50-70 pound pull most bows have at full draw.....

well most of the time carrying by the handle is better because I have to walk through cut overs and swamps and thick stuff so it doesn't hang as low that way. I just always wondered

I see bows carried by the string all the time, but it's something I just don't do. To each their own.

My vote is it doesn't matter.

I have always heard the same thing so I use a bow sling to carry mine.

Carry by the riser. Fell I can control it better moving through and over brush. Always been afraid of moving the peep up or down the string even slightly.
Don’t know that it matters, just the way I’ve done it.

In an open field with no vegetation I carry mine by the cables with the reverse assist rollers between my middle and ring fingers.

When I hit high weeds/grass or if I’m walking through thick woods I carry it by the grip and hold it at shoulder height.

That being said, I don’t think it matters at all.

The idea that carrying my bow by the string will damage it is pretty silly to me.
