Did the strings/cables jump off the cams at all? any fractures or cracks on the limbs? You should be ok.
ive done the same thing before, it does happen. and i bet you wont let it happen again! lol. a buddy dry fired my older bow and nothing happened. shot a buck with it the same year.
Take some time and really examine the limbs if you can not find anything wrong then take it as a important lesson.
Ok thanks for all the help and I will definitely not do it again. A its a good lesson ill probly be double checking that i have an arrow for a while now lol.
Ok im going to go look it over realy well. Im going to be double checking that I have an arrow knocked for awhile now.
While your dad may chew on you a little, I'm sure he will appreciate your honesty. Mistakes will happen. Double and triple check those limbs for fractures.
Danny, when you are a Dad you will give this advise - "Tell your Dad." Tell your Dad: - what happened. - what you have done/are doing to fix it. - you need to take it to the shop and have it checked. - you will pay for it. - you have learned a lot with this accident.
Keep checking the limbs as you continue to shoot. Sometimes they can micro fracture under the wrapping and not be visible at first. Sounds like you got lucky though!
I have read that rubbing a cotton ball over the limbs can help find any cracks. Cotton will catch on the broken fibers on the limbs. Buy yes, get it checked out at the shop.
