Does anyone know what this lever is for? Locking screw ? For the vertical adjustment ?

That lever stops the dial. Clockwise is locked, a half a turn counter clockwise and then you can use the housing dial for your yardage.

Am I not turning it clockwise enough to lock it? When it’s pointing to 3 o clock, I can still turn the dial. When it faces 12 o clock (up), I can still turn the dial....

It's just locks it enough so it won't inadvertently move on you. If you force the dial with it locked it turn however with more tension..and may strip out.

Ah f**k. Well I wasn’t using a ton of force and it still moved. So it sounds like half turns are all that’s needed for adjustment

Thanks again trial. I figured it out this morning. I think when the pro shop gave it to me, it wasn’t tightened. All I did was tighten it clockwise (1 full rotation) and it is good and right now. At least I know I didn’t strip anything, because it was never tightened to begin with !

I wish Black Gold included manuals on their site

The vibration on mine from firing the bow makes my sights drop just a little causing a high hit if I don't just snug it a little.
