The Godfather series (minus 3) Goodfellas The Departed Reservoir Dogs Friday the 13th (all. Sorry) Nightmare on Elm St. (all, again, sorry) Halloween (most...) Child's Play (always funny when drunk) Anaconda Congo The Shining Anchorman Inglorious Basterds (that was for my mom, she hated it, because I told her it was funny) Pineapple Express Friday Half Baked (yes, there's a theme going there... No, I don't smoke anymore. I just find it funny.) Super Troopers (St. Anky Beer) Beer Fest (Still waiting for Pot Fest. I love Willy Nelson) Don't be a menace (yeah, I agree with you) The Ringer (don't hit me please, I guess you had to be there) Blazing Saddles (Dang, that was lucky. Doggone near lost a four hundred dollar handcar) There is sooooo many more. I can't think though.
Okay all, I've noticed many of you didn't like the Godfather 3 and I was wondering why. I know it wasn't old school like the other 2 but I personally liked it alot. I think Pacino was great in this movie. Funny to think that someone could have that much influence on the Catholic Church.
As a stand alone movie, it's not the pile of crap that most think it is, but when compared to the first 2, it doesn't even compare. Plus, most of the acting was putrid.
Let me preface that even though some of these make my favorite list, I realize they aren't cinematic masterpieces...some are though Predator Full Metal Jacket Legends of the Fall Gladiator Troy Gran Torino Shawshank Redmeption Green Mile Saving Silverman Tommy Boy Road Trip Euro Trip Forgetting Sara Marshall Unforgiven And dozens more
I agree with it not comparing to the other 2. My main gripe was that Robert Duvall wasn't in it. No one could replace his character of Tom Haagen. I still thought it was a great movie tho. I'm just a huge fan of most anything with Pacino in it (except for 88 minutes).
Absolutely!! I asked about this almost a year ago on here when I started watching parts of it when I had the flu (odd what I remember sometimes), and I still to this day haven't made it through the whole thing (only catch it on HBO, Starz, etc). What I have seen is awesome. Excellent cinematography, and it's not a glorified western. Some of mine in no particular order: Shawshank Redemption Tombstone 3:10 to Yuma The Ghost and the Darkness Dumb and Dumber Super Troopers A River Runs Through It Legends of the Fall Saving Private Ryan Top Gun The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (From what I've seen) Forgetting Sarah Marshall Gladiator Tommy Boy The Boondock Saints Field of Dreams Major League Taken -AWESOME. I'm sure I'm missing a lot.
Full Metal Jacket. Although it was a great movie. It lost some appeal when I found out how real it was... lol. Best time of my life. Worst time of my life.
Wizard of oz (#1 seen it 1,000 times... know every word)- no comments from peanut gallery) Silence of the lambs Jaws A few good men Goodfellas The shining Shawshank redemption Christmas Vacation Top Gun About last night
Jeremiah Johnson (all time favorite) Hoosier (it was the last move I went to with my dad) Star Wars (yup, liked them all) Legends of the Fall Remember the Titans Rocky's and Rambo's The God Father's Predator Terminator's River Runs Through It Grumpy Old Men Movies The Man from Snowy River I rarely watch movies anymore.
Thanks for all the movie ideas guys! This thread turned out to be a great success and added over 30 more movies to my "to-watch" list.
Not in any order... Braveheart Full Metal Jacket Heat The Matrix (kind of all of them) Star Wars Strange Brew The Holy Grail American Pie Josey Wales Sean of the Dead 300 Pirates of the Caribbean (all of them) Red Dawn - could watch this once a week Transformers - more the first then the second one... Weird Science The Breakfast Club...gotta have my 80's every once in a while More - that are kinda fun to watch? We have a movie collection that is just past 500...so hard to really pin all of them down.
That's mine. I saw it for the first time my senior year in HS. I wanted to move west and live in the mountains. I did for 2 years then it was back to reality.
