So like most states, here in Delaware “archery only” season runs from I think early September to October 9th. Blaze orange isn’t required, but what’s the general consensus on wearing it anyway for safety reasons ?

I wouldn’t unless you’re hunting on heavily hunted public ground. Then I might consider wearing it to and from the stand.

Good idea. If you are bowhunting and overlapping gun or black powder season, orange is required. I don't leave home without it. BTW, Outdoor Life has a section, "This Happened to Me." A guy was wearing a bright yellow raincoat and was shot in the leg by a bowhunter. Go figure.

It's not required in NY and I hunt private but I can say I don't own a single stitch of orange.

Was the guy hunting Big bird? Lol!

NY Has no blaze requirements but during gun season I have always worn camo blaze ,most my neighbors do as well. That said both myself and my neighbor were nearly shot out of our 16 ft tree stands. We both called the cops.
When on the ground I have been able to walk up on doe by simply moving slow and flicking my hand by my side like a deer tail. It is movement not color, patterns to your back ground, not color. Unless blue. So public or close to property lines a orange cap is no guarantee, but better than nothing.
One other plus, it could help to keep other hunters from mucking up a hunt by seeing you at a distance and backing out.

I mainly hunt public lands, so I will wear orange while I am moving. Once up in the tree, I will wrap my vest around the tree or hang my hat so that is visible to all. Nice way to let people know you are there, deer are not spoked by this at all.

I hunt a grassy area next to a corn field that has pheasant hunters on the weekends. I wear an orange hat to and from the stand, just in case.

Even when not required, I usually have something orange in my bag that can be used for signaling, putting on my head or pack. Comes in handy at time or when I need to show my dad and uncle where I am hiding :) When not required still had the option of putting it on while moving in low light conditions.

I usually have at least a hat on. If only for the guys that go to the game lands and target shoot illegally.

I can't really speak for the US but in Ontario it is not required for bow season. It is not common for people to wear it on private land. If you are hunting on Crown ( public ) land a little orange may not be a bad idea.

Probably a good idea to wear some sort of orange on our public land but if I’m on a lease or private property during bow season I won’t wear it
