Made a trip to Uvalde, TX and hunted with SOE Hunts in May.
Saw lots of whitetails and axis deer. Was able to drop a beautiful axis buck and a bonus doe.
Absolutely delicious venison! Filled up the freezers to the point I’m only taking a trophy whitetail buck this year if I get the chance, but doesn’t mean I’m hunting any less.

I would love to drop one with my bow but used the 30.06 to make sure I came home with a trophy.

What outfitter were you using? Also, were they in the rut at the time?

    S. O. E. Hunts. Uncle Randy fed us well and put three of us on deer and a black buck.
I didn’t see any rutting action when I was there. The bucks make a cool grunt as they move around in cover.
