So while I have not put a tape on him yet, it looks like he did count this as 3 points. I think it would definitely be 2 regardless which would give it 9 abnormals, 8 of which are on the bases.

Going to have to do some rearranging on the wall. I think he would look best more in a corner, I didn't realize how hard of a turn the form has.

Love it regardless but think it would look better like that than in the center of a wall.

Just sprayed some clothes with permethrin, not sure how good my signal will be but I'll be on my first turkey hunt in the morning.

Not sure how long I'll last with my mind normally focused on morels this time of year.

    Alright, credit to @virginiashadow today.

I decided since one of my turkey hunting spots has been a bust, I'd use some of Bretts ridge running techniques to check out 2 adjacent public land parcels, one 150ish ac and the other a bit over 300. The two were divided by a stream, which I wasn't sure about the size.

I had marked 2 spots in the smaller parcel I wanted to check out today.

I set up before dawn along near one of my marks, in a draw, along an edge of pine/hardwoods. Well I did have a gobbler nearby which was great to hear, but he hung up and I assume moved onto the nearby private.

I moved on to spot 1. A shelf near a on a small hill. 20200425_195025.jpeg . No old rubs, but I did find myself a gnawed souvenir. I thought was a bone, but seems to be old tine. 20200425_132716.jpeg .

I called as I crossed the pine covered parcel hoping, but no more calls. Spot 2 was close to the stream dividing the parcel. I found remnants of a old feeder as I approached the dense rhododendron covered ridge and pushed to the stream. 20200425_085830.jpeg the stream was a showstopper. But I bushwacked toward the other shelf. In hindsight not sure why I marked the south face, but found very fresh scat 100ft away on the north side.

No birds brought home, but a good day afield.

Know the feeling bow brother. Stand time, reflecting alone, feeling that fall air and hoping to get one close. Aw son! Cannot wait. Everything else just melts away.

I see we’re still holding onto that after what... 3 years now hahahahaha well guys I stepped up and got a new bow. Stepped away from the bear and got myself a Hoyt. Hoyt pro defiant to be exact. Been shooting it for the last week or two and really starting to like it. Plus I sold the bear and got my daughter a PSE epix and she’s drillin targets and is also looking forward to hunting season!!! It’ll be the first season one of my kids deer hunt with a compound! Super excited for her IMG_2139.JPG

Something awesome I just seen in my home town of Bellefontaine. Trucks and people lined up along the street with signs that say “ back to blue” and American flags everywhere

This guy hunts in my neck of the woods. Trying to help him with his channel and subscribers. If you don't have anything better to do, help the guy out. Looks like right up my alley......
