I am in need of a new mower. Can’t really decide on what brand of mower to get. I mow roughly 2 acres and I need to last for several years. Price range is around 3000 or little more. Thanks

I know they were having sales on these.

    Husqvarna MZ61 (61") 27HP Zero Turn Mower

I bought one last year and love it. It's the commercial version and I have over to acres I mow. I went from just under 3 hours with a 72'' in deck on my tractor to under 90 mins with this guy.

I have a commercial grade Cub Cadet with the steering wheel. It has a 24 hp Kawasaki engine and a fabricated 54" deck. I got the 54" deck because I have to get into some tighter spaces. I cut two 3 acre lawns with it and it saves a lot of time over the lawn tractor mower.

The local place near my house sells John Deere and Husqvarna, I went to get a Deere, but they stated to me these were better in quality and price.

https://www.lecklersinc.com/ is just a local shop been in the area forever.

Don't mind germ in his haste to give advise he didn't read. For 3000 you will need to decide between Toro or cub cadet. Each can be purchased for around 2800-3200 for 54 inch when shopping around a bit. I have owned Toro for years and mow around 2-3 acres. I sat on both units and there is little difference. They only thing I didn't like is on the cub cadet "reverse" comes back further and henceforth felt less comfortable. Hope this helps.

Actually you won't need to decide between those two brands, but fix did good give advice, go sit and test them out.

The below model is about 2900.00.

Husqvarna Z254 (54") 26HP Kohler Zero Turn Lawn Mower 2800.

Get a fab/welded deck, not a pressed deck.
Most of the residential/low end commercial Z-turns use the same engines and hydros. (Briggs/Kohler/Kawasaki;CC of engine will differ).
Some times you can get a deal on a Bad Boy but probably not at TSC/box stores. I have an Exmark (Made by Toro) and it has been great, but I have a commercial grade, it's just over the line from residential to commercial.
A lot of people bash the Kohler engine but I've beat the hell out of my old rider trying to get it to blow up and it never did; I needed an excuse to buy a zero turn.
Exmark will be out of your range and quite frankly, you don't need it.
Toro should have some models in your range
Hustler: Raptor SD is a good residential mower, but they are about $3800. Made in USA, steel frame and heavy steel welded deck/Kawasaki engine.
Husqvarna: I see no issues with them, but I have little experience with them.
John Deere:? My neighbor has had his $2500 one for about 8 years and he stills cut fine with it. We do not have nice lush lawns, we have a lot of sticks/leaves we deal with.

Get on them and drive them, there are differences in how they engage and how you drop/lift the deck. Some decks require a little extra effort to lift, it's not hard, but if you have to lift/drop the deck a bunch, it gets annoying.

I have a Gravely and love it. It was recommended to me over the cub cadets and toros that’s the dealership dealt. Husqvarnas are really good as well

Hustler Super Z here. Way more money than your budget but one heck of a commercial mower.
Most of the Hustler line is great. To me the most important thing to help you choose is which brand does "the best dealer" near you sell. Hopefully you won't have any issues but if you do having a good dealer to stand behind and help you out is worth and awful lot.

My last mower was a Cub RZT 50". I would not purchase another one. The only thing that lasted on it was the Kawasaki engine. Deck needed welded multiple times. All 3 deck spindles broke, the pto engagement pull knob, 2 sensors went bad not allowing the deck to engage and one of the seals went out on the hydrostatic transmission. A total disaster.

Replaced it with a Gravley HD 60 and the difference in quality is amazing.

Can not wait to sell my walk behind ransoms zero turn walk behind deck mower. The beast took it all down. Spindles still good 20 years later.
