Yeah it takes a little getting used to, was kinda hard to finish my coffee look at the lake and say well I gotta go to work. Had to stop by the ranch this morning to pick up the bear mount and as I drove up the driveway and went in the house, not going to miss it at all.

So todays mid morning project was to try to organize the garage. I was breaking down boxes, reorganizing, moving stuff out to the shed. I got the whole thing pretty lined out. When I was sweeping my wife came out and complimented my work. how nice it looked and went back in the house. I moved on to the next project, she went back out and noticed that I put the fishing boat in the garage, then she accused me of only cleaning up the garage because I did not want my boat getting rained on, yeah so what. Boat is moved in now.

A good friend call today and asked if he can store the brand new wheeler he just purchased in my barn. I answered with can my girls use it on the trails out back? Hell yes was his answer. It's a good day to own property

Sounds like someone is trying to hide something from his wife :)

You did your kids a favor by downsizing before the time comes to clean up after you pass. I wish my FIL would. I am not looking forward to cleaning out his two barns or the piles of crap lying around his yard. You earned a little more respect from your kids whether you realize it or not.

Hahaha! Dang brutal. I like it. I’m going to start getting on my parents and in laws. “Get rid of all your crap so I don’t have to deal with it when you croak you old fogies”

The bear is on the wall opposite the one buck head that I kept, there is now a pontoon tied to the dock. Can it get any better?

That is exactly both mine and my wife's attitude. My in-laws are a legitimate episode of hoarders waiting to be filmed. They have nothing that either of us want to keep and the property would be worth considerably more without all the crap on it. We have seriously considered selling it "as is" once all necessary legal documents are resolved and the estate is settled. Neither of us wants the hassle or the extra money that would come from the effort necessary to clean it up.

Sometimes it needs to happen, my grandparents place is gonna be a disaster. Equipment that hasn't moved as long as i can remember, basement full of crap, half dozen sheds full of junk. She has one whole corner of the basement full of cardborad boxes that about waste high on me, I'm 6'2. Not to mention paper work from all the way back from 60's.

But can't get rid of anything now.

Hey if you come up go thru Royalton stop at Bills and bring some chicken strips the buy 4 get 4 deal is amazing. I like the honey mustard dipping sauce. I will pay you back and the beer choices are Bud Light Platinum, corona light, or Mich ultra. Soon as I get the beer and bait fridge in the garage it will have old milwaukee in it.

When my Dad died, myself and siblings picked up any of our remaining 'treasures' from my mom's house. A lot went to the landfill...but it helped her.

It would be easier if my wife had siblings to help. She is an only child.
We already have what little she wanted to keep. There will be weeks, if not months, of trips to the dump.
