Have to weigh in on this because it happened to me in high school. Now all my best friends were black. I lived with the original "Archy Bunker", this is not an exaggeration. Case in point my sex talk was " "if you get pregnant I'll disown you. If by a N I'll kill you ,a W(Italian) I'll kill you both. Not a nice guy. Note the attitude towards Italians. Well between my friends using the N word like all the time ,just off hand and the old man using it as being derogatory . One day while having a bad day someone did something and the I'm not your N waiter popped out of my mouth and I IMMEDIATELY was shocked and so embarrassed. Now I don't know the circumstance of this guy is but I do know that when your brain hears something enough times it subconsciously files it and whether you would consciously say something or not your brain will pull things from the subconscious in times when emotion is over riding common sense, for the lack of a better word. BTW the above is not an excuse , just an understanding. So perhaps NO one should be using , not racist words, but derogatory and degrading words

I don't know I believe adult people say and do things in the heat of an extreme moment or an argument that they wouldn't normally do and regret what ever it was. Things I've heard people say I don't know why I said or did something after things calm down.
