Don't know how I missed this. Who out there has used nose kissers and do you like them? https://bowmararchery.com/ I had a kisser for a while and hated it and shot better once I took it off. But I do want to add a anchor point to add ref. For consistency.
I make my own kisser for the corner of my mouth. I found the ones being made were too big, plus when I geared up never felt right. I put a brass knock where I want it and then slide a rubber knock like things over it.
I've used one since the early '90's. I just used tie in thread and tied a kind of a large knot where my nose would touch. I always melted the loose ends on the knot on the nose side of the knot so I could feel it on my nose in cold weather while hunting. I could not stand regular kisser buttons but loved the nose knot as another anchor point reference. I kept a card with the measurements written down in case of string replacement or rough handling of the bow. I shoot quite well with it.
You mean the "eliminator" buttons that we used to use to slide up under the nock of the arrow before we clipped the release to the string? (before d-loops) I bet that over a crimped on nock makes a pretty good reference. I seem to be able to anchor consistently by putting my first knuckle on the end of my jaw bone and having the string just touch the tip of my nose. Gloves combined with a hood or stocking cap pulled low will give me issues if I don't consciously think about my anchor though.
No for nose kisser. String just touches my nose. Indifferent to a kisser at corner of mouth. The vane barely touches my cheek.
For you guys that posted about using the nock points, are you using a peep sight also? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Ive seen 'em, dont use 'em, esp. anything that comes from "Bowmar", the hey "Hold my beer, watch this" idiot .. however, if using one helps a person stay consistent, go ahead and use one/make your own, a kisser does the same... I used a kisser off and on for years .. it is now off and not going back to one anytime soon ..
I bought a couple but haven't put them on my bow yet. I will be experimenting with them this summer. One thing I've noticed by using a secondary GoPro camera overhead during my hunts is exactly how badly things fall apart when shooting an animal. Regardless of how much practice I put in or how many animals I shoot, I consistently see the same flaws in form and execution when I'm shooting an animal. I would be willing to wager a lot of folks struggle with the same issues, but never have a way of seeing it. If the nose button can help keep things even slightly more on track during the shot, I don't see a problem with it.
I have never used a peep, I have always worried about those last minutes of legal shooting time with light. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
But you missed out on the chance to get your Shmedium "0% Vegan" shirt while you were getting your nose button. It's a dang shame.
