Thank you (and others) for risking exposure on top of all the other BS you handle on a daily basis. Thank you!

Wife and I are in FL visiting my folks. We went to Walgreens yesterday without wearing them and an older couple inside freaked out on us. They were wearing masks.

Funny thing is half the employees weren't wearing them, and I watched those that were continually pull their masks up and down touching their own faces with bare hands and not washing them; so I think we were the least of their problems.

Man that’s crazy! I can only imagine being in your line of work. You guys are running the gauntlet every day minus this virus. Now you put yourself in even more risk. Hats off brother. Be safe!

On a good note my big buddy from work is pulling through. He’s about 6’8” 320lbs of pure teddy bear and he was intubated 3 weeks ago. Had to be flipped face down the entire time with blood running through echmo (sp.?) machine to oxygenate it. Anyway he finally weened off and is awake and talking now. He beat the odds for sure. Hope he continues in this direction

I wear one at work because it is required. I was wearing in public but not around the neighborhood. The longer this goes on, the less I am convinced that it is necessary or serves any purpose other than making it look like government is helping if the masses by providing easy to follow guidelines. It feels more like trying to create peace of mind for the panic prone people than anything else.

This is very sad really. Son and family stopped by, knowing I'm really freaked about things right now. He's rummaging through fridges and freezer ,me having to avoid hugging the grand kids and apologing, then I hear mom, ya had someone watch kids when she went to lunch with friend that is literally on deaths door all of the time. A very serious medical condition with limited treatment and high mortality. Her parents not social distancing. Out at busy camp grounds. Them out "visiting". Absolutely oblivious compared to a month ago and living in a high rate and growing county. They left and I went on a bleaching binge.
I hate being put in such an uncomfortable situation, loved seeing the kids but hearing Gram can I have a real kiss and having to say sorry here's an air kiss catch it, just breaks my heart . WTH! Drives me crazy hubby and son work together. Though he's type o and, knock on wood , never catches anything. Allergies thats his only issue, and accident prone like me. He brings every flue bug, his guys get home to me every year.
Get a vaccine please or run your course like SARS. This is starting to really suck!

It's this exact mind set that is going to keep this virus alive and well for a long time to come. Wake up people, wear a frigging mask when it should be worn. Distancing and wearing a mask are the ONLY things we have on our side at this point!

the shutdowns and continuing of such has done more harm than good in many if not most areas .... ^^ Do you wear a mask when your in your car, sure sounds like you might ^^ ... the media has got many scared crapless and I'm sure those being a hypochondriac dosnt help either ... I went to two hardware stores yesterday that required the damn masks (ACE and Menards), I ended up at Lowes where they just had a sign that said do the distancing thing (meh)... well, I got a new grill and a new window AC and spent almost $700 there... they got my business .... I will avoid places with this "must mask" BS ... I am not a sheeple !! ............

Five Quick Things: Let That Mask Slip
That mask isn't virtuous, nor is it going to keep you from catching the virus. Plus, various other things.

100, 000 people dead with the potential to continue on killing valued and loved Americans has people scared. Has nothing to do with political party, the media, being a tough guy, none of it.

the 'cure' is WORSE than the virus many scientists/doctors say .... people are fed up with the authoritarian BULLCRAP being pushed ... some are to damn blind or stupid to see what is happening with these unconstitutional 'lockdowns' .. hell, there are those that actually enjoy this authoritarian rule (a dems/libs/socialist's wet dream) ... the governors/politicians pushing this I hope are voted out next time around ... there are other things in life more important to me to worry about than this virus and millions of other business owners and workers in this country feel the same way...

"A new report, "Projected Deaths of Despair During the Coronavirus Recession," suggests as many as 75,000 Americans could die from "despair" due to unemployment, depression from isolation, and fear of the indefinite and uncertain nature of the pandemic.

One of the study's authors, Benjamin Miller, chief strategy officer for Well Being Trust in Oakland, Calif., said: "Deaths of despair are tied to multiple factors, like unemployment, fear and dread, and isolation. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, there were already an unprecedented number of deaths of despair. We wanted to estimate how this pandemic would change that number moving forward."

The study estimates that there could be 75,000 coronavirus-related "deaths of despair" from drug or alcohol abuse and suicide. Miller explained, "The isolation is causing people to lose boundaries on their behaviors. ... People have to be working and we have to get people connected to other people."

I disagree, what exactly does a mask do? I'm not talking a mask meant for virus's, but the mask that is being pushed on us for false hope.

I could wear a cheese cloth scarf, a knitted scarf, a mask made from candy necklaces or a hankerchief/bandana. All of them will protect me as much as they protect you. Pretty much not at all.

    What haven't we done?

Simple answer is, go about our daily lives.

Say early next year, 2021, a vaccine is had and the pandemic is declared over. Does not matter who is the president, it's over for Covid-19. Will influenza A and B deaths be counted again or will they all fall under Covid-19?

There is a plethora of falacies in regards to deaths by Covid-19 and deaths ruled as Covid-19.

I've worn a mask 3 times now. Twice in a grocery story and the third at the Dr's office. Learned today the grocery store is not mandatory and went in without, although in a pocket, and wore a fake mask while at the Dr's office last week.

I'm not going to live my life in fear over something that is being politicized greater each and evry day. I don't care what Fauci says, Birx says, Trump says or any of us says.

I care about what I see happening where I am. Not what CNN reports, not what FOX reports, not what MSNBC reports and definitely not what I or any of us report.

Nobody has won the thread yet, and I'll wager on no one here does.

I am awake, I wear the mask every time I go to work. The problem is not me, it is others. So few others are doing it that it is becoming pointless.

This is what I was getting at but you said it better. The cloth masks are ineffective at best because most people are not bothering to utilize them.

It's a shame I need to answer such a stupid question. The masks are so people don't spread the virus to others!!!! The only RELIABLE info you're going to get is from one of the networks you mentioned, not local news. This virus is SO DANGEROUS because you can have the virus, feel fine, don't know you have it, and spread it to God knows how many people.
Your the type of person who will infect others because of your cavalier attitude. I'd be willing to bet you're a Trumper. You have my condolences.
