It's time to update our friggin flock of fragmented photographic frolicking fupnits. (Okay okay, I made up fupnits but it means *#$!** trail cameras) What cams are currently everyone's favorites? I'm not buying knock offs again to play with. Don't need cell cam models, just something affordable in numbers of a dozen or so and reliable. (yeah right)
As far as bang for the buck, I still say the Browning Strike Force is very hard to beat. I've owned about every camera out there, including Reconyx, but for the money it s the best commercial cam I've ever owned Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Brown had the longest lasting cam. I ever owned and stopped making that model. Go figure for it worked great for 10 years. They're very first mini cam.
Yeah I know the feeling. I've had two models and brands of cameras that worked great and were reliable for years and they changed both of them to crap. Makes me mad.
I wish I could offer good info here, but I'll admit I'm here for the same reason of needing new ones and like you don't want any junk. I will say I have 2 stealthcams. A 45 NG which seems bullet proof and a G45NGx Pro that has more problems than Carter had pills.
Thanks for the specifics guys! From what I can tell the good one seems to be the Strike Force 85o. https://www.amazon.com/Browning-STR.../dp/B06WGQ7WX5/ref=psdc_3413551_t1_B06WD489T1 Update! Maybe not the same camera. These tricky sobs, grrr. I think it's this one, much more expensive and the model number is an exact match. https://www.amazon.com/Browning-STR.../dp/B06WGQ7WX5/ref=psdc_3413551_t1_B06WD489T1
I have 2-3 Spypoint 10Ds that I really, really like. I have one that sucks. https://www.amazon.com/SPYPOINT-FORCE-10-Compact-Infrared-Detection/dp/B07J47NZBX I don't think they make them anymore though. You can maybe find them around. Ultra fast trigger, very high quality daytime pics. Nighttime are meh but good enough to see what you're looking at. One of mine is kind of a lemon and will randomly shut off even with good battery life left; but the other ones are top notch.
I love my Browning spec ops extreme cams. I love video and they have the best video I have seen. If you want video go with the no glow cams. I also have the Stealth ds4k's which are great. Really awesome pictures if you want just pictures. My Reconyx xr6's are my workhorses. I get pic/videos with the Reconyx. I use to update cams every year but not anymore with these. I also have some Spartan gocams. I can't find any reason to even look for more cameras. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I'm relatively new to using trail cameras, but I really like the Moultrie M series. I look for deals on Amazon and get the damaged packaging ones for $60-70 when they are available. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Honestly, my most reliable camera over the last few years is my $28 Tascos from Wal mart. Great picture quality - no. Eat batteries - no. Any issues whatsoever so far - no Price point - yes please Take it for what it's worth and for what you're looking to achieve but I love the dang things.
Brownings and Spartans. Im at the point where i am going to pay the money and get the best of the best.
My most reliable are Moultrie “A series” I bought on sale 3 years ago. I paid $40 each for 4 of them. All are still working as good as day I put them up. They stay out year round and get fresh batteries twice a year. Only use them in photo mode. Daytime photos are great, nighttime are so-so but useable. I have been so impressed I buy a few each year on sale so I have extras if needed. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
