I read Aldo's Sand County and a Fierce Green Fire. Aldo talked about shooting bows, never hunting with a bow. Pretty sure hunting with a bow was not legal in Wisconsin in his lifetime. I will reread to fact check myself.

I stand corrected bow hunting in Wisconsin was legalized in 1934 in 2 counties Columbia and Sauk. Aldo died in 1948 while fighting a grass fire. Like I said about Sand County Almanac the archery part is a very tiny part of Aldo's conservation message in the book.

So went back and reread Sand County Almanac. Aldo would be disgusted by what bowhunting has become, then again he called an aluminum canoe gadgetry.
