My father and my uncle had farms south of Columbus, Ohio, up to 1955. I didn't even know anyone who deer hunted in central Ohio at that time let alone bowhunting. I do recall one fellow stopped by my uncle's farm with a buck. Only one I saw for years. Deer were rare.
