That's better than a layoff, I am waiting for our bonus to get canned, it's around 20k for me. They delayed until the end of March.

Also, pay raises will be nil and employers hold all the marbles. Where are people going to go?

I just got an e-mail from the MN DNR department of Forestry. I retired they terminated my commission, I did not attend a safety refresher, I did not pack test. Well none of that matters my commission has been restored and expected to respond if needed. That is crazy unexpected unprecedented.

Sounds like the stimulous bill may be held up further. Dems managed to sneak their unemployment bonus that they wanted in. 4 GOP Senators are vowing to vote no unless itnis removed.

Would add an additional $600 per week to unemployment checks which would make it more beneficial for some to stay on unemployment than go back to work

Oh good lord. Just make it no one gets more than 80% of their pay.

For god sakes, the GOP agreed to it, nice work.

They agreed to the reloef in terms, but after drafting it was there. That's adding pork with a keyboard not negotiations.

I know I'd want laid off if given the choice. That would give me an unemployment check equal to what I make now with a few hours OT.

Both sides do it, that's why I hate rushed bills of any kind. Something gets snuck in and after passing it is found, in the end the tax payer holds the burden. It's one of the reasons I am opposed to stimulous for the American person at this time. They're already going to give payroll loans that are forgiven as long as they are used for payroll and keeps the employee on the payroll.

Once things are functioning again, then roll out your economic stimulous to encourage the American consumer to spend a little and stimulate the economy boosting demand and increasing hire back for those that did lose their job.

Looked it up other night just for hell of it and because couldn't remember. But h1n1 was a year long epidemic, or close to it . So I'd guess might as well settle in. There's gonna haveta been some sort of infected number places are just gonna deal with to get things back goin. And idk what that'd be.

Didnt go home when I had the day off yesterday bc of some close human contact on a call. Didnt go to my in laws who are 70 because Im not bringing anything potentially to them. So I had a good old sleep in my truck. What a hell of a life right now. We have guys being quarantined daily dealing with these people. And most of them arent going home....they just deal with it

Wait until this has dropped to numbers that takes it out of the headlines, then comes Autumn and the first new case is reported. Instant front page headline, until the vaccine is available sometime Spring/Summer of next year it will always be possible, just hope there are suitable treatment options before then.

Did you see Lightfoot and her cronies on TV at lunch, yelling at everyone in the city? There are people all over the lakefront, bike trails, parks, soccer fields, etc. Every day my faith in humanity wanes a little more.

Going to be watching the numbers, so far number is going up only. Eventually recoveries have to be deleted from cases.

Past 7 day new cases for IL

    19th 136

    20th 163

    21st 168

    22nd 296

    23rd 236

    24th 250, 4 new deaths

    25th 330, 3 new deaths

    Total statewide= 1865 with 19 deaths.

I've been at work following with what signal I can, but that doesn't surprise me.

There are so many exemptions in in the stay at home order it was useless.

Sadly the time for a lockdown has passed anywhere. Everyone that fled NYC are sure to head to low number states/areas and jump start the spread there.

Hate it for the morels, but what we need is a good old skip Spring and directly to Summer to see if heat will knock it down a bit.

Just came here to post this. At least I get to work from home and I'm not laid off and still have my job.

Once again.. brother thank you for all you do. People like you is what gives me the freedoms I have.

On another note.. I just got to say that I sure as heck would rather be dealing with C-19 in the good ole USofA than any where else in the world!

That would be my guess. Once the news moves on, many others will as well.

I believe when they model data they're assuming 75% compliance with the shelter in place request. From what I've seen out here in the burbs, that seems about right.

The people I do see out and about seem to be staying away from one another and not gathering together. My kids were out in the driveway playing with each other today - nobody else was around. And I'll be in the garage in a bit - trying to get out of this dungeon where I spend my days. I don't see much of an issue with that so long as people aren't gathering together. My neighbors and I wave from across the street or talk over the fence like Tim Taylor and Wilson. We're not getting together to drink beers and share a meal.
