Mitch McConnell is setting Pelosi and Schumer on fire!

She's become the best friend to the Republicans. Democratic swan song... "Flush, gurgle, gurgle, gurgle..."

Congressional Dems are playing with fire yet again. Just as they did with Obamacare and forcing it through and using the nuclear option for Federal judge appointments.

They have to be smart enough to know that a vaccine may not be out by the next sessions start in January and by them using the Senators in quarantine to try to highjack the stimulus package, it will ultimately come back to bite them. Both before and after the election.

There are two lines to care about most. The US and the (33%) daily increase (effectively doubling and a bit more due to compounding every 3 days).

The reason being the mortality rates really won't change until the US infection trend drops off relative to the increase line every due to Rx, treatment, mutation or overload of med system like Italy.

Mortality rates I favor the ratio of outcome (recovered v death). Also a bit inaccurate, but this trend also has increased (orange line in the graphic il post in a minute).

Justin is right, this is in fact a function of testing. A few variables here too -lab throughout, testing volume, test rates, etc.

The other take away is asking questions like 'why is Japan or s. Korea so low?'.

But, I'm just a data nerd.

Are you okay with giving big companies a pile of cash with no safe-guards on what it is spent on?

FYI I am okay with giving small businesses whatever they want, but the big corporations have burned us too many times in the past.

They are low because they test everyone and got on the stick at the start of this mess.

5200 tests per million inhabitants South Korea

US 74 tests per 1 million

They knew where it was, we are just finding out.

If that's all they wanted they could get that.

Pelosi wants several months worth of checks to go out to people not working whether they had a job prior or not. This is going from a stimulus to federal welfare in a hurry.

Trump finally came out and said he was against corporations using it to buyback their stocks, he then stated he would demand it.

I say screw it, let Nancy have her way. Then they can blame the 2nd bill and this one on Trump as well, even though she authored them. We'll have to pass it to see what's in it.

And lastly, I think there should be sunset clauses in all of these bills with 3-6 month expiration dates so BS can't be snuck in.

And some are calling for 30K to be knocked off each student loan payers bill...all because they might be out of work for a little while.

Yeah and the initial US testing was delayed for a reason...it was faulty. The initial CDC testing & process rolled out first to vet in fed labs, then to states and quickly scaled to commercial labs.

OTOH, there are other behavioral and social differences btw US and others.

Even if they passed this today we're still screwed, fact people still are going out is just going to prolong this even more.

Not exactly true, due to asymptomatic patients and incubation times.

Yeah, we did not want to use the WHO test and created our own. Then we screwed that up.

Yes it appears people in South Korea listen;)

Yes, being they tested everyone they had a better idea and the data prove their method worked.

If you read about it their plan comes from their failings with EBOLA virus and what SK learned.

    South Korea > everyone else

I faithfully paid off my loans. Do I get a credit? Hell, I'd take it against future income taxes.

What do you think they'd do with a few months worth of $1,000 checks every 2 weeks or even once a month? It won't be stay at home.

That's why I don't like the "individual" checks yet, it's not time for that. Do the small business payroll funding to keep checks to those who were employed but cannot work. I guarantee ol' Chuck and Nancy will find a way for illegals to receive their portion of the pie as well.

So yeah, they're trying to turn relief aid into public aid.

3 M is already buried themselves to their chest with the country how deep do you think they'll go before stepping up.
These companies and the Democrats have no clue how long memories will last inthe wake of a national emergancy.

Things in upstate NY are snowballing. The stay at home is a joke. Example hubby in construction ...he and his crew have to work..they are at a system of schools. He calls this morning after getting to work ..one crew member has kids and an ex wife, that is a nurse and the kids travel back and forth between house holds. Cases are now here but he hasn't mentioned this to hubby. Also think it's all over blown. It was our son he works with that figured out this guys situation. Now take that situation and add all county hospital employees, ambulance crews and home health care workers.. Upstate is farms, construction , healthcare, volunteer fire and ambulance. Farm stores and grocery, banks and pharmacy workers... Dang near everyones working...

One more thing...feel bad for these woman news people. Because already they are showing signs of no beautician appoinments....lol
