Iowa Governor opened up unemployment benefits no questions asked basically. Even if you just have to stay home to take care of family. And, it does not go against the employers unemployment rating. Win-win. Extended state tax filings, driver's license renewals, basically everything is on hold to help families make ends meet.

I have a case of crown royal being delivered Monday. I figure, if I have enough Crown, I wont care if I run out of toilet paper. I have plenty of old socks and t-shirts. But, you never have enough Crown.

Ha, I spoke too soon I guess. Yesterday I had a sheep acting sickly so I had to take a sample to my vet for testing, needed wormed...so I did have to make a run to town. Animal welfare issue so quarantine went to hell. No reported cases in that county yet and I didn't see anyone showing any flu symptoms so hopefully there's no issue.
My luck, these sheep are supposed to be almost parasite immune though I have not stuck as perfectly to rotational grazing here over winter as I should have so it's probably my fault.

My girlfriend talked to some people who have family in the national guard here in MN and said to expect a total shutdown on Monday. Not sure if it's true or not but I’m heading to town today for more beer.

So the stock pile is 8 cases of Platinum 6 tins of skoal. Going to buy a bottle of Jameson and keep it behind glass, break in case of emergency. I was at the grocery store at 5:45 this morning to get in at the opening. It is really interesting to see what things are gone before other brands. Folders coffee seems to be most popular, Gatorade G2 most popular. The soup isle and mac and cheese decimated yet plenty of fresh fruit and veggies. I think I finally grasp the concept of comfort food.

Also planning a recovery mission to get my Mom back out of Florida, she is down alone just her and the dogs. My Dad is in Minnesota but he will not fly down to be with her, my mom can not fly back alone with the 2 dogs. Not sure if I will fly down or drive. Pisses me off because I will not being seeing my Grandson for another 2 weeks after I get back home.

We were talking about that yesterday. Day to day really hasn't changed much, but started spring calving few weeks ago and got one with something wrong with foot. Buddy was like well if vet can't make it out guess load it up and take him in. They shut that stuff down alot of ppl are gonna be screwed.

Luckily vet lives pretty close so he's supposed to stop by.

I work at a hand sanitizer (germ-x) and antibacterial soap manufacturing company. We will be working non stop 24-7 until further notice. I will get every other weekend off..... I think. But the production workers will not. It will be rough but like I told them better to be bitching about working too much rather than the millions who will be laid off or on lock down. As of right now I think we will be under the essential businesses to remain open if there should be a lockdown. We are based out of St Louis

Tried to go to the store. Thought maybe I could eke out enough for a batch of chili. Plenty of beans, found some sauce when a lady 4 feet from me started a congested cough. Yeah, chili not that important put the beans back and left.

Be interesting what they consider "essential," surely be some sort of guidelines. Otherwise why even announce anything.

Lucky to be an essential manufacturer, we will be operating as long as we can get materials and components.

I'm hearing restaraunts will be allowed to stay open for curbside/delivery. Can still go on walks but must remain 6 feet from others.

Sounds like nothing will really change truthfully.
