Quivers and POI

Hey all,

I have a question for those of you that hunt/shoot with your quiver mounted to your bow. Did you have to adjust the sight if you went from no quiver to quiver on the bow? I have spent most of my hunting life removing the quiver when I got to the treestand. I use and have always used Kwikees. I have been doing a lot of experimenting during my shooting sessions this off season. Shooting more with quiver on and the same amount of arrows that would be there in the tree, sitting, and all sorts of awkward positions. I typically keep my shots to 30 yards or less in the woods, and have not noticed any POI changes out to those distances. I'm not sure I want to hunt like this because I am assuming the wind may move my bow more, but just wanted some other opinions. Thanks and God bless.

 

I don't think you can see a difference at 30 yards and under. I have always use quickee also but I take mine off because I don't want to accidentally knock off a arrow and have it fall hitting my stand on the way to the ground. It's just more comfortable sitting with my bow on my lap also.

I have bow hangers in every spot and still end up holding my bow.

 

That's a good point about bumping an arrow while moving the bow around. Thanks.

I don't stand hunt so it stays on. Actually never shot it without it. The Tightspot is just part of the bow IMO.

 

I always hunt elk with the quiver on and have shot with one on a lot over the years. If practicing, doing a 3D shoot, or sitting in a stand I take it off.
As long as I glance at my level to ensure it is correct, I see no POI change whether the quiver is on or off.

 

That’s what I was doing with the level. I have heard folks say they couldn’t shoot well with them on so I was just kind of surprised. Thanks.

Hip quiver guy here. May be different for me I hunted where I live so no transport, I have also left the quiver hanging in the tree.

 

Ive been shooting quiver one for a couple years now and I have not seen a POI change out to 60 yards.

The only cause of POI with the quiver on that I can tell is if I do not slights adjust my wrist torque to compensate for the slight pull to the quiver side of the bow. Having a sight bubble helps tremendously with this. As long as the bubble is level, I see no difference in POI with or without the quiver. It hasn't been an issue for me and I shoot out to 100 yards when I am prepping for an elk hunt.

 

I can take a quiver off shoot to the same POI ...do it all the time

 

I always take the quiver off when I`m in the stand!! Just habit, been doing it forever

 

Never had to adjust my sight. But the added weight to the right side of the bow threw my level off pretty substantially. I added a rear stabilized to offset and bring it to perfect balance at full draw.
This could be your problem.

I have not had any issue with shooting with the quiver on or off. Personally for me it balances out better with the quiver on. No POI change.
