Devil's advocate: some people develop a meat allergy/intolerance later in life. I've heard of multiple hunters getting it from tick bites. If you couldn't eat real meat tomorrow you'd be jonesing for an impossible whopper.
Guy around here got that year or two ago, can still eat chicken and fish. So if that's symptoms I get, I'd alright. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
You’re conflating two things, fake meat and lab grown meat. Fake meat is plant based, Lab grown meat is meat grown in a lab, still meat, just produced differently.
Please explain to me how meat grown in a petri dish in a lab is the same as the muscle tissue from an animal's body. The logic that the two are the same is astounding.
Since your google appears to be broken, you should have paid more attention in science class. Lab grown meat is made by taking a biopsy from an animal’s muscle and then using it to grow more muscle cells in a mixture of nutrients that enable them to multiply, thereby creating meat. some people who acquire meat allergies later in life can microdose their way back to normalcy. Also, the tick-born meat allergy is usually only red meat and sometimes pork.
Because a petri dish in a lab is as natural as what happens during an animal's life cycle when it is conceived, birthed, lives life in its natural environment, then dies. Again, flawless logic. A science lab is not nature, ergo, not natural. Amazing that the life cycle of animals was not taught in that science class you are so proud to have attended.
So I would imagine that lab grown meat may have the flavor but the consistency would be that of oatmeal since said petri dish muscle would never be used for a purpose. So I can see where someone could create meals and lab grown meat could be used as a protein but why? You could get the same nutrition out of mushrooms or beans. So I guess I'd be curious about the funding on this project bc its seems like a total waste unless it's for the medical field being able to "grow" a replacement muscle.
Natural? There is not one thing bought at a grocery store that has not been manipulated by man. There is absolutely nothing “Natural” about modern agriculture or the worlds food supply. Sure you can go hunt for your own food, but everyone can’t do that if you want to have any wildlife left on this earth. In fact this can help save what we we have left. Use your brain and think outside your own little world.
Idk, maybe it's just a mindset. In the original article the testers said the consistency was normal so I guess but no thanks.
A guy at work here got bit by a rock this last summer and ever since he can’t eat red meat. I guess I never thought of that side
Yea he made all the local news, took while to figure out what was goin on then once did turned out he was first case in area. Was bsing and he said doctor told him to eat whatever he wanted but he'd be back in. So he was like "screw that, felt like was dying first couple days started getting sick." Haha jeez I never saw that but wow talk about a correction. I meant tick incase there was confusion there
Now...how much is it going to cost per pound? Wife tried turkey bacon twice- first and last time. Like chewing rubber. What is the purpose of growing meat in a lab, besides giving some people a job?
Because apparently mass producing meat in factories, oh I mean labs, is better for the environment. As far as jobs, doubt it'll out weigh the lose of shutting down farming operations. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
