Learned about the Ned Rig, hard to believe there could be a new development with jigs and plastic.

My wife is the one pushing for the new boat, we have not even moved yet and she is looking at pontoons. She already told me I am not buying some old ****toon and fixing it up.

Good for her. Wish my wife would think along those lines.

She wants a bigger boat but to keep the cost down, she is looking at boats the same age or older than our current one.

NO WAY! Next boat I buy WILL NOT have wood stringers or transome!!

Have you seen what you can spend on a pontoon? $50,000 for a used one?

Nope. Not into that type of boat. Nor is that amount of money in my budget for a boat.

You just have to start looking now. You will find something. It is just a matter of when.

I do not like fiberglass boats for that reason but transoms go bad in Aluminum boats. I almost bought a lund Tyee that needed a new transom but I did not have room to fit it in the shop, refuse to let a boat sit outside no matter the cover.

There’s only one soft plastic needed. All others are just imitators...

Got my ass handed to me being the back seat in the kayak, I was baiting hooks and landing fish. We avoided the team skunk but I had something big on with teeth that will bother me for a while.

Wife caught the biggest sheepshead and mangrove snapper I have ever seen either with a guide or our trips. I like to think I inspire and facilitate her excellence. Hell I tie the hooks, bait the hooks, open the beers, land the fish, unhook the fish, load the kayak. But she is pretty damn happy and that is what matters.
