I see it has an awning for when the weather is nice outside. Wouldn't want to get any of that pesky sun on ya!

Hubby put on a movie today " King Pin" . That's when it clicked, how we've ruined our society.
I grew up in the dancing, roller skating, bowling, drive in age. Now put aside the asinine racism at the time we all pretty much got along. Roller skating and ice skating at school, roller rinks and bowling allies everywhere, drive ins, school dances then discos. All things that had kids and adults socializing. Yes even at drive ins . They all had play grounds and everyone brought their lawn chairs, sat out and talked because we were all early to get the best. speakers..lol ... Made me a little sad for my grandsons...

Just so I get this straight- a native N American species (that itself has low numbers) and is widely considered one of the most difficult big game animals in North America to successfully harvest migrates to an area, might be out competing another native North American species with a much wider habitat range; and the US Park Service thinks it's a good idea to use helicopter snipers to wipe them out?

That's pretty much the sentiment of over half the comments on the original article

I appreciate both the direction of your post and also the irony that a movie like King Pin spawned a philosophical musing.

Says it all here, sounds like when it was introduced for public consideration it was stated the animals killed would be donated to feed the hungry. Now none of the hungry will be fed, and most of the aninals will not be recovered.

    Trust your government......

Lol.. He kept calling me from the kitchen to see how young all the guys were. I've never actually seen the movie. But I saw bowling, and heard disco music, brought back some great memories...as I washed dishes...hahaha

When people aim to deceive.. Long story short, I shared pics of the deer herd on my place a couple years ago and now I have a plastic surgeon with more money than sense to compete with on my section. Oh, and I'm in the market for a new feed dealer. Apparently these two chuckleheads are buddies. I always found it just a bit odd that my feed guy was so interested in my hunting schedule and whatnot. I've been played. So, whataya do? I've decided to just do absolutely nothing. I bought into that feeding year round, its malarkey and all you do is grow them big for the neighbors. Food plots!? Wtf, why would I? I'm going to let Dr. Titties spend all his money on feed, plots and whatever other magic beans. Why you ask? Mostly bc I know the guy in between us, about 80 acres, and I just leased his place. He holds all the bedding and giant oak trees. So my plan for next year? Hanging a couple of stands 20 yards off the fence line and cashing in on this fool's hard work, well not his hard work bc I also know the guy he pays to do all the improvements and fill his feeders..

Okay, I'm done throwing my tantrum. I walked that fence line yesterday and am still just dumbfounded by the amount of money this guy spent. Jealous? Probably just a little. Would I ever spend that kinda money on improvements just for deer? Never. But I'm firm in my belief if doing nothing and here is why. I've noticed over the last two years I feed year round but never hold the big boys past October. So it's time to just lay back, stay out and let them never see me on the place. I would like to mad at the neighbor but how can you be mad at a guy that spends a lot of money on deer hunting and works with boobs all day. I'm mad bc I let myself get outfoxed.

I think your new plan is good. There are still a few things you could do with food plots though. It might benefit you more than the deer!
My place is very small compared to my neighbors. They have better bedding areas than I do so I tried to create a smorgess board of food for the deer. A place they want to go to. It is fun to try different food sources to see what the deer really like. Plus it is enjoyable to work the ground and timber. At least to me it is.

My number 1, most bang for my buck planting is soybeans. Yesterday afternoon I watched the neighbor take a skidder and shove fallen trees off of his field (some he cut down) and then put chokers on 4 big trunks and drag them off. I have 2 1/2 acres of standing beans butting up to his land. Not 5 minutes after he was gone deer started coming out into my field. As I sat at my computer I watched as 18 more deer came off the hill in my back yard and headed to the beans.

It was fun to see making it worth all the time money and effort.

Companies that bury auto-renew in the terms and conditions page with no option to opt out.

Got burned last week. Must have missed it somehow.

Working to get my funds back. They will not be able to do it again next year. I will have a new card number. F@@k them!
