Man all piss and vinegar straight out of the gate and your first post no less! Woo doggies, we got a live one here! Welcome to the forum, not sure what you saw when watching that episode but it's pretty obvious that Todd was joking around.

Even at Tommy's high poundage set up, those broadheads expel A TON of energy and neither Rampages or Carnivores are overly heavy arrows...his set up winning an opposite shoulder battle is low....however he hits the opposite shoulder dude will be celebrating every single time.

Rampages aren’t exactly light? My Spitfire XXX and rampage setup weighs 495gr. They aren’t an extreme FOC type of a set up, but still way heavier than the average arrow.

Eh...unless he's a 250 spine or 150 they're sub 9.0 gpi which I wouldn't say are on the heavier side. Did the job though, and watching it I knew instantly he had hit opposite shoulder and that deer was gonna be dead.

Speed vs weight seems like it always comes down to this. We all want a fast arrow but we all want dead deer no matter where the arrow ends up.

I think it's important to remember that hunters should be more concerned about what happens once the arrow hits the animal vs how am I going to get the arrow there. We can't control how the animals move but a heavy arrow will guarantee a more lethal shot if the animal moves.

It's a struggle yes I'd like to be stupid and be able to shoot African game at 128 yards but let's not forget that good bow hunters kill close. My last deer was at 12 yards. My arrow is 600 grains. Shoulder then rib..... passthru. 5 pin in 5 yard increments 0-40 yards.

I don't think it's a mystery what happened. He needed more arrow weight.

Lol, man I've missed this place. All I needed to do was shave the handle bars... had I aimed 1/3 lower I would have been holding in the dirt. But I'll practice more just for you :D
