I have the MR-GJ (which is also on Amazon) but think I might upgrade to the 450x due to their claim of being quieter, but I don't think you will go wrong with any of them. Just remember to make sure you have plenty of pads and butane with you because they do have a limited functional time that I think is a little less than what they claim.
I don't think the model really matters that much but I would caution you - from what I have heard if you don't buy the Realtree Extra Green camo version that the device is much less effective. Apparently - the mosquito can see the Graphite Gray and Olive coated versions and so they know it's really not that big of a deal and they will just come and bite on you. Obviously it's really worth the couple extra dollars to get the camo version.
My buddy has about a dozen in Muddy Girl pink camo. They seem to work just fine. (Got them on sale at Menards for $8/ea.)
I think it's the best thing there is for bug control. Sent from my SM-N900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Does anyone drop a little deer pee on the pad? Or any other stank? I'm not talking covering the pad, but just something to cover the thermacell smell. I don't think it's an issue as it sits, just looking for opinions.
I suggest going with the MR450. Many hunters have questioned whether Thermacell's negatively affect deer and spook them. The simple answer is no. Can can smell them but they do not spook.
