All kidding aside. There are a lot less deer on the scoreboard then usual? Less competitors? Much fewer big bucks too. I know up here we got killed last winter. And then this year I had over a foot of snow in October which is unheard of. And it stayed and only collected even more. I had February Snow banks at my house in like late November. So I'm assuming my deer numbers are taking a hit. I didn't see squat this year.
Bunch of our taxidermist friends in Iowa have said the same thing. A lot less deer turned in and not many monsters.
Ya it looks like about 20k less deer were shot this year in Iowa then last year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hahahahahahahahahahaha. Probably! Him not hunting much this year probably is the reason for the decrease. He was good for at least that many by himself! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Quick question. If I understand the rules correctly the first "antlered" deer you kill is the one you score? Do you get 50pts even if it don't score 50"? I thought the 50 was only for the "bonus" deer? Ex; in MO an antlered deer is any deer with antlers longer than 3". Just curious.
Yes, first buck must count as your buck score. And, yes it still gets a minimum of 50 pts. That is known as the Fergie clause. Old timers know the backstory. lol
