Got into stand at 350. Saw a doe in field and then bumped 2 near stand.
Absolute beautiful night. Slight NW breeze and 31 degrees.

I wasn't going to hunt at all today but sitting on my daughter's couch watching cartoons that my 3 year old grandson likes got old so here I am.

    It's light snow right now.

My son-in-law saw seven deer moving yesterday afternoon in the snow so I figured I'd give it a go.

I really want to arrow one with snow on the ground. IMG_3732.jpg

Thought I was going to shoot a doe, but it didn't work out. Saw around 15...just needed to come a little closer.

    Once again I saw nothing.

I must be very unlucky when snow is coming down.

    Tomorrow morning should be better.

Your not alone, I never really see anything while it’s snowing either. I don’t do it anymore because it is a pain in the butt when you have to dry all your clothes and equipment when your done.

Well turkey this morning and rabbits this afternoon. Not a deer in sight storm holding off till 10 pm then a wild week ahead. Snow, low temps and wind. May try one more time in Morning. tomorrows the last day.
Very tough year..lessons learned.. Do not pass nice buck early...dont pass young doe.. And you can't beat standing corn ...so plant it!!!
Oh cut all your trees starting after Christmas. Get out of woods by June.

Well guys no hunting, I have a bunch of deliveries and a drive filled with snow. I just got it , turn around, mailbox , and the canvas barn roof shoveled. OMG TIRED! Then add insult to injury. No live doe sightings since I shot the doe 3 weeks ago. I crest the hill to shovel out mail box and on the snow covered road there pops out 6 big deer. They came out of my pines lining road down the hill. That's where the main plot is. Also where I've had nearly no activity due to them stripping all plots to dirt in Oct. In fact never hunted out of either enclosed blind there. Well they went into neighbors Norway woods which then leads to our land behind him. That put an end to my season.

So I want to THANK ALL OF YOU, You made me feel welcome and allowed me to enjoy your time afield. Mighty fine hunters here and some fantastic deer taken. I've enjoyed all the pics and tales shared.
Merry Christmas to each of you and enjoy the rest of your seasons and the Holidays with family and friends.

Well it's the grandfinale for me. Not looking to promising. No tracks. The critters chewed up my seat and my quiver fell and clanged off my foot rest. Well if there were no deer here at least I didn't spook any. 1 and half hours left.

As it turns out I didn't get to hunt this morning and I won't be hunting here any more.

We had an incident last night that involved my daughter and my son-in-law and his temper when he's drinking. I'll just say that the Sherriffs Deputies were called and they made him leave the property.

I pulled my stands about mid day.

I'll stay here one more night to make sure things are calmed down when he gets home from work and I will head home in the morning if they are.

That boy burned about every bridge he could with me last night.

I almost got to hunt with a good snow cover on the ground. The trails I would have been covering were eat up with tracks.

That sucks. I am sorry your family is having to deal with that. Get your daughter out of there if she isn't safe.

It's been fun hearing about your adventures. Lessons learned. Remember, there is no offseason. Merry Christmas.

Out tonight. Hope to shoot a doe (or 2 or 3!). Gorgeous out here. 33 degrees and a little breeze in my face.

Well I am out. Saw a fawn and a small buck at last light. Seems like when you are looking for a doe you just can’t seem to find one....
